Set in a Southeast Asian city, Circle Line is a story of a single mother’s journey of protecting her son as they experience the attack of a monster on a trapped underground train tunnel system. Alongside the events inside the tunnel, engineers desperately want to rescue the survivors from a control room.
This movie is the feature film debut of Hollywood-trained actor, JD Chua. He has featured his short films in international film festivals. JD Chua’s works competed for Best Thriller at the Thrillspy Film Festival back in 2011 in Washington D.C., for Buncheon Choice Competition at the Buncheon International Fantastic Film Festival in 2015, and more.
Furthermore, this is the third feature film of actress Jesseca Liu, alongside well-known casts such as Andie Chen, Patrick Lee, Peter Yu, Ashley Seow and Nathaniel Ng.
Circle Line is produced by MM Entertainment, together with Taipan Films, and it will be Singapore’s first VFX and CGI-driven movie. It took two years to create the film with the help of the award-winning animation company, Omen Studios. The monster’s features come from the creative mind of Victor Marin, who also made creatures for Oscar filmmakers like Guillermo Del Toro.
As of the moment, the rating of the film is to be advised.
Netizens showed their enthusiasm for the film through the comments.
IG user @imtingting05 said that the movie looks interesting. Another user, @ikaiwen, mentioned and noticed that the movie sounded like Third Rail on MeWatch – which Andie Chen, one of the main casts of Circle Line, is also a part of.
