June 5 was the big day: Cassandra Low was found guilty, as the New Taipei District Court made its decision public. Essentially, the charges against her included stalking and harassing Tsao, making defamatory public remarks about the singer, and—most seriously—posing a threat to Tsao’s safety.

The court judgment, which Low herself posted on Instagram and Facebook on June 11, revealed that she had been persistently messaging 38-year-old Golden Melody Award winner Tsao through email and social media since as far back as November 2023.

Intimidating, stalking, and harassing Tsao

Low, who is in her 30s, began to intimidate, stalk, and harass Tsao after the singer blocked her.

Low actually went to Taiwan in February 2025 and managed to track Tsao down at the Banqiao High-Speed Rail Station in Taipei. Things escalated when Low physically pulled Tsao, her suitcase, and even an item attached to her phone. And to top it all off, Low stopped Tsao from calling for help and even made her unblock her on social media.

Low was handed a six-month jail sentence, though she has the option to pay a daily fine of NT$1,000 (about S$43) instead. Either way, once she’s served her time or paid her dues, she’ll be sent out of Taiwan.

“Most comforting news”

Taking to Instagram, Tsao couldn’t hide her relief about how things turned out. She called it “the most comforting news I have received recently” and made sure to thank everyone who reached out.

Tsao expressed her gratitude to her friends who have stood by her during the tough times and also to her lawyers, who were patient and supportive. In her words, she feels incredibly lucky and happy.
