Food delivery rider slams into back of lorry while blinded by sunlight, then gets hit on head by taxi

Singapore — A  GrabFood delivery rider momentarily blinded by the sun  slammed into the back of a lorry right after he had moved his bike out of the shop.

So, of course rider Luqman Sha had captured the whole thing on video and he simply had to upload his unfortunate accident to  TikTok. He even added music   The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights,’ which he especially hand-picked.

“A week has passed and everything still hurts,” he added on his account @sha_s2

When the bright sunlight  began to overwhelm his vision, he said in retrospect, he should have maintained a safe distance behind the van he was following.

At one point, he holds up his left hand to help him see better.

But then he notices that the van swerved into another lane

This sudden change caught him unaware. As it turned out, the van shifted lanes to avoid a lorry in front of it, parked on the side of the road.

Luqman was not quite as lucky.

The jarring impact of slamming into the back of the large vehicle is clearly seen, even felt, and the rider’s camera goes sideways as he falls to the ground.

To make matters worse, he ended up getting hit on the head by a taxi.

He then questions why three “huge” trucks should be parked on the right side of the road to begin with.

“I have no idea,” Luqman added.

Fortunately, several good samaritans passing by who helped him out, and  he thanks them in his video.

“Remember to recite your prayers when on the road. Pay close attention to those sharing the road,” he admonished motorists and riders.

“Sometimes the danger may not be on the ground but elsewhere too.”

His future, at this point, seems to be up in the air.

“Will I continue to be riding on the road?

We’ll see.”

Netizens wished him a speedy recovery, as he suffered considerable injuries, including losing his teeth and breaking a finger.
