Carrie Wong, a 28-year-old Singaporean actress, is one of the casts of Mediacorp’s new supernatural drama, Soul Detective. She will be playing a character who has contact in the underworld and is possessed by evil spirits.
However, the actress is admittedly scared of many things, including ghosts – which is ironic because of her role in the series.
In an interview, the 28-year-old stated that she may be tall and looks fierce, but she is “very timid”.
“I am afraid of cockroaches, mice, heights, and loud things such as lightning, thunder, and gunshots.. I am also easily scared…” Carrie stated.
When going abroad, Carrie expressed that she would never dare to sleep alone.
“I remember one time when I went to work in New York, I couldn’t sleep alone. In the hotel room at night, as soon as I heard a little sound, I became paranoid, wondering if something happened? I didn’t sleep well at all in those days. ” she added. In fact, when shooting a film back in 2019, she forced her assistant to stay with her in the same hotel room.
Last November, she and Desmond Tan – also a Singaporean actor – attended a fashion event together. Unfortunately, it was a time wherein Tan experienced a supernatural encounter that frightened Wong.
“We had dinner with other people, and then everyone went to the toilet one after another. When we left the restaurant and went to another place, Desmond Tan asked, ‘Did you feel anything when you went to the toilet just now’?” the actress exclaimed.
Desmond said that he had goosebumps before going into the toilet room. When he finally entered, he felt like a middle-aged woman was watching him.
“I said I didn’t feel it, but after listening to his experience, my whole body went numb.” Wong said.
Carrie told Desmond that in the future, there is no need for him to tell her about his ghost encounters.
“I’d rather not know, then I won’t think so much. If you tell me, this matter will always be printed in my mind, and then I will think wildly when I go to the restaurant or go to the toilet alone…” she concluded.
Indeed, Carrie Wong is the least courageous of the bunch!
The drama, Soul Detective, is the third part of the supernatural trilogy that follows a Netherworld policeman as he joins forces with a human policeman to capture spirits that have escaped to the human world. It will premiere on November 21, 2022 at 9PM on Mediacorp Channel 8. It will also be available to watch for free on meWATCH.
