President Tony Tan inspects the floor and not the parade at NDP

The following is a letter from one of our readers who prefer to remain anonymous.

At first I was wondering why President Tony Tan was looking at the floor and not at the soldiers when he was inspecting the parade and realised that he was actually looking for the guiding markers on the floor.

I thought the speaking with the guards at such parades were random, for the President to truly understand our soldiers. I guess I was wrong because it all looks staged.

The incident reminded me of another incident at last year’s National Day Parade where PM Lee was guided on where to wave and on when to shake hands with the President.

The entire NDP looks so fake and staged, and not like the parade of yesteryears when Singaporeans had so much pride in our National Day celebrations.
