Singapore — A man who posted a picture on Facebook of his wife and her supervisor having sex pleaded guilty in court on Tuesday (Sept 21).

The man, 27, who remains anonymous to protect the identity of his wife, 30, had suspected her of having an affair.

Without her knowing, he took her phone and saw intimate pictures and videos. He then took photos of these using his own phone and later posted them on social media.

His reason? He didn’t want other men to suffer “the same fate” he did, according to CNA.

The man entered a guilty plea to a charge each of theft and distributing an intimate image.

There are two additional charges that will be considered when he is sentenced next month.

On the charge of theft, the man can receive a jail sentence of as long as seven years. And for intentionally distributing an intimate image of another person, he can be fined, caned, or jailed for as long as five years, or a combination of the three.

At the time that he took his wife’s phone and posted the intimate photos, he was still married to her, although he had moved out several months prior to the incident.

But on Feb 6 of last year, he went to what had been their home together and asked to use the restroom. As he was leaving, he snatched his estranged wife’s phone.

And while she tried to run after him, he outran her.

On the suspicion that she was having an affair, he went through her phone and found the photos and videos of her with her supervisor. After taking his own pictures, he gave the phone back to his wife but neglected to tell her what he had done.

CNA reports that among the images the man took of his wife was one of her and her work supervisor having sex, and where both of their faces could be seen.

He posted intimate images of his wife on Facebook on Feb 12 of last year, in a post set to public for all to see, at around 8 am. The post also indicated the name and occupation of his wife’s supervisor.

Adding pictures of the supervisor and screenshots of messages between the two on his post, the man also warned people to be aware of the “homewrecker” supervisor.

People who knew the wife and the supervisor told them about the post, which was shared around 2,000 times by that afternoon.

The man later took the post down, surprised by the attention it got. /TISG
