Principal tells parents to appreciate kids regardless of grades

Rod Monteiro, radio presenter at SAFRA Radio shared in Facebook a letter he received from his son’s principal
He described the principal  as “the best educator I’ve ever met.” You have to read the letter to kniw why she’s the best.

Dear Parents,
Your children will be having mid-year tests between now and the first week of May.
I understand that this is a stressful time, not just for your children but for some of you as well. I just want you to bear in mind that academic results aren’t everything.
Your child who is gifted in the area of music or dance might not be able to grasp mathematical concepts. Your child who is brilliant at science might not be good at languages. Your child who is a natural sportsman might not understand commerce or accounts.
And that’s more than okay. Trying their best and being the best are two very different things.
Please continue to tell them you are proud of them. Tell them that the most important things in life are not grades but character and attitude. And if in the process of developing integrity, loyalty, compassion, kindness, and tolerance, they get an A, then that’s a bonus. ?
I urge you to continue to believe in them and in their strengths and talents, and watch them as they grow up to change the world.
Lynette
