The Chinese newspaper, Wanbao, reported that a 13-year-old boy, Ng Teck Kiat, was found dead last night (23 Mar) at the foot of a HDB block in Jelebu Road in Bukit Panjang.
The newspaper said that the boy who was still dressed in his school uniform, from from Block 183 Jelebu Road at about 10.30pm. Paramedics who arrived soon after pronounced him dead on the spot.
Neighbours responding to the loud noise created by the boy’s fall thought that someone had thrown a heavy object from the highrise flat, and were shocked to later discover that the sound was from someone had committing suicide.
No witnesses have come forward to give further information on the boy’s death. Police are still investigating the incident.
Two weeks ago it was reported that another boy, a 15-year-old, attempted to jump-off his flat in Jurong West, but that he survived the fall because he landed on a Mercedes Benz.
