Debt collectors spotted at Lim Tean’s firm call themselves ‘money-recovering avengers’

Singapore – Lawyer and opposition leader Lim Tan made headlines when five debt collectors who brand themselves as “money-recovering avengers” dropped by his law firm to address an outstanding debt.

Legal debt collection service, SDCS Holdings Pte Ltd, filmed the entire process and live-streamed the footage on Facebook last Tuesday (Sept 21).

Customer encourages exhausted hawker found slumping over table in Holland Drive

One Jane Lee took to Facebook page Can Eat! Hawker Food to share a touching experience and to urge the public to be more considerate towards hawkers.

Ms Lee visited Holland Drive Market & Food Centre on Sept 22 for a late lunch and saw a hawker slumped over a table.

6 men enter S’pore illegally, big guns seal off Bukit Batok Nature Park

 Singapore – Officers from the Central Police Division, Clementi Police Division, the elite Gurkha Contingent, the Special Operations Command (SOC) and the Home Team Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Command were deployed to catch six men that entered Singapore illegally on Friday (Sept 24).

The Bukit Batok Nature Reserve was sealed off on Friday as officers from various divisions conducted their search operation for the six men aged between 19 and 51.

Witnesses shared spotting the red vehicles of the SOC lined up near Bukit Batok’s forested area, reported Chinese newspaper Lianhe Zaobao.

A strong presence by the big guns surrounded the area, resulting in a tense atmosphere, said a witness.

Chee Soon Juan on new restrictions: Yo-yo type of policy-making is driving everyone nuts

Singapore — Singapore Democratic Party secretary-general Chee Soon Juan commented on Monday morning (Sept 27) on the new restrictions imposed to curb the uptick in Covid-19 cases and prevent overwhelming healthcare systems, saying he does not understand the reason behind them.

“Here we go again,” wrote Dr Chee in a Facebook post. “Another surge in infections, another series of knee-jerk reactions that don’t make sense…

WHERE DO THESE PEOPLE GET THEIR IDEAS FROM? WHOEVER IS WRITING THEM NEED TO REMOVE THEIR HEADS FROM THEIR DERRIÈRE.”

Maskless uncle chase out passengers from MRT cabin; picks fight with commuter

Singapore – A video of a maskless man picking a fight with a passenger while in the MRT is circulating online.

The video, shared by multiple social media platforms like Singapore Incidents on Sept 25, began with a man in a red shirt approaching passengers in the cabin.

The MRT announcement noted the train was arriving at Yio Chu Kang.

Meanwhile, the man began shouting at other commuters, forcing one passenger to move to another cabin.
