Eurocup 2016 tournament favourites France were left in tears following their 1-0 extra time defeat to Portugal in the final in Paris. Players and fans alike were left heartbroken at the final whistle. But one video of a little boy, a Portuguese fan, consoling a crying French team fan has captured the hearts of many worldwide.
Football fans world over have agreed that this video beautifully captures the true spirit of sports. And Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam agrees.
Sharing BBC’s article on the incident in his Facebook, Tharman said: “25 seconds. What sports are about. It sometimes takes children to tell us.”
