Netizens compare Bentley driver who pushed security guard to the actions of Ramesh Erramalli who abused his condo’s security guard

Singapore — The viral video showing a white Bentley car inching forward against a security officer outside the entrance of Red Swastika primary school has reminded netizens of Ramesh Erramalli, the resident who had a dispute with his condominium’s security guard over a rule by the management.

In a Facebook post on page Singapore Peasant, netizens juxtaposed images of the two men and wrote: “You can buy $1.5M condo, you can buy big Bentley, but you cannot buy class”.

“Salute to all the security uncles who have to deal with their s**t”, they wrote.

The condominium management had imposed a S$10 fee for visitors who park their cars there after 11 pm. Erramalli’s guests had come over at about 10.30 pm for Deepavali festivities in 2019.

The video shows the security officer asking what time the visitor would leave, followed by the resident questioning if guests could not visit him after 11 pm on Deepavali.

“I bought your f***ing property for S$1.5 million, you know? This is S$1.5 million, okay?” says Erramalli.

After the security officer tells him he would let the management know of the situation, the resident replies: “Tell the management to f*** off.”

In the video, Erramalli was seen behaving aggressively and rudely towards the security guard at Eight Riversuites condominium.

Following the incident, Mr Erramalli apologised to security guard Mr Steven Heng during an hour-long meeting last October, with the Association of Certified Security Agencies, saying he was “very remorseful” and that the security officer had forgiven him.

The 61-year-old male driver was arrested for a rash act causing hurt, after the 62-year-old male security guard sustained minor injuries.

The Bentley car inched towards the security guard despite attempts by the officer and a school staff member to prevent the car from entering the compound.

The video showed the staff member talking to a passenger of the vehicle, who was outside the car.

After the passenger got into the car, the driver inched the vehicle forward, forcing the security officer to move backwards.

The driver had a valid pass to enter the school but jumped the queue to try to enter the compound via an entrance where the security guard was controlling traffic. However, because other motorists waiting in front and queueing were unhappy, the driver then tried to enter via an exit gate next to the entrance. /TISG
