Singapore ― An elderly man selling tissues was seen urinating and feeding pigeons along Orchard Road.

In a TikTok video re-shared on popular Instagram page @singapore_incidents, an elderly man could be seen going through the trash at a dustbin along Orchard road.

The captions of the video say that the man sells tissues. “His family wants him to stay home but he makes good money here”, it read.

The camera pans to show the elderly man sitting on the ground while leaning against a pillar.

Another shot of the same man showed him eating from a styrofoam container and also using his spoon to push some food onto the ground where pigeons were.

“Feeding pigeons and causing a mess”, the captions read.

The video also showed the elderly man urinating out in the open, using electrical boxes along the street as cover. The man was also filmed urinating on buildings in broad daylight.

The netizen who took the video appealed to the public for help, especially during the pandemic.

Recently, the story of a 72-year-old man living in a hawker centre surfaced. The man only eats one meal a day – a bowl of S$1 porridge.

As part of activist Gilbert Goh’s initiative to help displace elderly Singaporeans, the elderly man was given S$50 to tide him over.

Mr Goh shared that the man sleeps on a bench together with others who also take shelter there in the night.

“He is rather unclear on how he ends up in the street at his advanced age”, Mr Goh wrote.

The man also said that someone in his fifties passed away two months ago at about the same spot where he sleeps.
