A woman took to social media in dismay after discovering that her food order had been left on the floor outside her door by the Grab delivery rider.

Ms Kenny Wong added in a July 12 (Tuesday) post on the COMPLAINT Singapore Facebook page that she tried to call Grab’s hotline many times to complain about the unhygienic delivery, but got no answer.

When she finally got through via the feedback chat on the Grab app, she was told that it was past 12 hours since the food had been delivered “so investigation cant be done.

It’s really poor service provided from the delivery team up to the management I guess,” she added.

Ms Wong posted a photo of a plastic bag containing her food order placed in front of a floor mat outside a gate.

She wrote in her post, “The driver just put the food in a very bad manner. I found my food at the floor outside my door gate. The driver didn’t use the doorbell nor call my mother in-law whom just outside living room watching the TV.

The driver /delivery person mad to just put the food in the floor no hygiene and respect !!! hope grab will look into this.”

She added in a postscript that there is a hook on her gate and that her unit has a doorbell.

Moreover, her mother-in-law had been in the living room waiting for the delivery, as Ms Wong was bathing her baby around the time the rider delivered the food.

“I’m a platinum grab member , and not a first time grab user I’m just shocked of such thing happened +the poor management response,” Ms Wong added.

Many commenters agreed with her.

Some netizens sympathized with her but asked her not to be too hard on the delivery rider.

Some commenters wrote that on the other hand, how the food was delivered to Ms Wong is exactly how many want their orders to be given to them, which might cause some confusion to delivery riders.

Another wrote that the rider could have at least knocked on Ms Wong’s door.
