Man breaks into ex-girlfriend’s house, sees another man, questions their relationship and throws a fit

SINGAPORE: A 36-year-old man, who was just supposed to retrieve his gaming console at his ex-girlfriend’s house, suddenly became aggressive when he discovered that there was a male friend in her home, causing the friend’s thumb to break.

With this, the suspect is now facing three charges, including intentional assault, disturbing peace, and trespassing. He pleaded guilty to one of the charges, and the others are yet to be considered by the judge.

Case details

Investigations revealed that the suspect’s ex-girlfriend invited the victim to her home to play video games. Later on, the ex-girlfriend noticed that the suspect was attempting to enter her home using an electronic lock code on the door, which he obtained while they were still in a relationship.

During that time, the suspect wanted to retrieve his PlayStation in her home, given that the ex-girlfriend wanted to end their relationship for good. As soon as the suspect entered the house, he found the victim sitting on the sofa and questioned his ex-girlfriend.

Dissatisfied with her explanation, the two argued, and the suspect demanded answers from the victim about his relationship with his ex-girlfriend. When the victim did not respond, the suspect became angrier, which resulted in a physical fight.

Case details showed that the suspect repeatedly punched the victim in the head, face, and chest. He also pressed him down on the sofa and picked up a plastic stool and smashed it at him. The victim suffered a fractured left thumb, contusions on his forehead, elbow, and shoulder blade, and a minor cut to his right middle finger.

The ex-girlfriend called her mother for help, and the mother called the police. Unfortunately, the suspect was also involved in another brawl with several people at a local nightclub before.

In a separate incident, a man was arrested after allegedly assaulting his mother following an argument over their difficulty finding a private car to take them home.

The woman suffered a cut on her lip and lost three teeth after he pushed her to the ground and kicked her in the face.
