Police have confirmed that a double death occurred on Saturday (22 Oct) night at a condominium in Novena. A man fell to his death from the 13th floor of  Novena Suites in Moulmein Road at about 7pm. Four hours later, his wife was discovered in the same unit, with fatal stab wounds in her body.

Police in identifying the the man as Wang Chan Foo (46) and the woman as Ng Soo San (44), have classified the cases as unnatural deaths and are investigating the deaths.

Wang and Ng had been married since 2003 and have two children – a daughter aged 13 and a son aged 7. The children were not present at the scene of the deaths. The couple had lived in the Toa Payoh area until their separation two years ago. After the separation, Wang rented a unit at the condominium while his wife continued staying in their matrimonial home in Toa Payoh. They were undergoing divorce proceedings.

The police have classified the cases as unnatural deaths and are investigating. TODAY understands that Wang and Ng had been living apart for two years and were undergoing divorce proceedings. Wang had rented a home at Novena Suites along Moulmein Road while Ng was staying in their matrimonial home in Toa Payoh.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it was alerted to an incident at about 6.55pm, and that Wang was sitting on the ledge at the balcony when they arrived. Wang’s neighbours too tried to dissuade him from jumping. Wang refused to listen to them and jumped while SCDF was setting up a safety life air pack.

The police had tried unsuccessfully to contact Ng after the incident, and subsequently found her dead in Wang’s apartment.

Eyewitnesses said that the Police took away at least six bags of evidence, including drugs and chairs, after being in the investigation scene from 7pm to 3am.
