Pritam Singh: Nicole Seah, Married with Two Children, and Leon Perera were "disappointed with themselves" when confronted about their affair; Seah came clean to her family much earlier

SINGAPORE: When asked how Nicole Seah and Leon Perera reacted when confronted about the affair, Workers’ Party Chief Pritam Singh said they were “disappointed with themselves”.

Though neither Perera nor Nicole Seah was present at the press conference, Mr. Singh said Leon was especially disappointed for the pain that he had caused his family members. Perera is married with two children.

“In Nicole Seah‘s case, she had approached her loved ones earlier to speak about the matter, and she had been resolving the matter earlier. The process of healing with her started much earlier after the affair ended”, he said, reiterating that it was a very difficult time for both of them.

Nicole Seah is also married with two children.

In his letter of resignation, Perera said he apologized for “not being forthcoming with information when this issue arose within the Party, and I was asked about it some time back”.

“I hope to devote time to my family in the weeks and months ahead, so as to address the hurt I have caused to them, which is my greatest regret. I hope that my family and I will be given the space to do that”, Perera said.

Similarly, in her letter of resignation, Nicole Seah apologized to her loved ones for “any embarrassment this might have caused, in particular, my husband and my mother”.
