The community page shared photos taken by netizen Raymond Quah, showing a black Porsche Panamera sticking out onto the road while on a parking slot at 284 Bishan St 22.

“Genius parking,” the original poster noted.

With over 600 comments, the post got netizens wondering how the scenario happened.

“Probably driver lives in a landed (housing area) and seldom go out driving,” said Facebook user Lip Theodore, giving the vehicle owner the benefit of the doubt.

On a positive note, the driver was considerate and parked neatly, with enough space for another vehicle to park beside him, said netizens, poking fun on the matter.

Still, many said it was pretty obvious that the slot was for parallel parking.

“No need a rocket scientist to know that is parallel parking and yet this drive(r) could park perpendicular to the lot. Champion,” said Facebook user Amigo Ong.

Netizens also asked if the driver failed the parallel parking test and resorted to leaving the sedan in that position.

“I got two encounters whereby the same scenario of two ladies who drove high-end SUV cars and all parking lots were parallel lots which both caused some jam behind me,” said Facebook user Alex Peter Chua.

According to Mr Chua, the ladies kept “going in and out of the parallel parking lots for more than three minutes.”

He then offered to park their cars for them.

“To my personal point of view, if (you) don’t know how to park parallel lots, then either go for refresher or park at those lots which you are familiar at and don’t do this kind of stunt,” he added. /TISG
