Singapore — A guy out in the dating world shared his experience where he got catfished by a girl who apparently just wanted to have a free meal.

In an anonymous post to popular confessions page NUSWhispers on Sunday (Feb 13), the guy wrote: “I met with someone new from a dating app 2 weeks after breaking up with my ex, but it was the worst experience ever”.

He added that he was simple and 1.8m in height. “I don’t need the girl to be especially pretty or chio bu, but just don’t manipulate photos. Especially using photos that cover up too much meat and the real person looks completely different,” he wrote.

Sharing his experience of a date gone wrong, the guy wrote that the woman he met for the date looked very different from the photos used in her dating profile.

Just to end the date, he wrote that he paid over S$200 for the buffet they went for and quickly sent her home so that he did not have to endure any more.

Rather bitter, the guy wrote: “For all ladies out there…it’s real simple. Don’t use a photo to cheat a meal, just tell me and I can paynow you so you can eat the buffet yourself. If you’re not genuinely here for a date, also just tell me you want to eat the buffet only… I am okay one. Just don’t waste my time”.

Netizens who commented on his post were not entirely sympathetic. Some questioned why he would bring a first date to an expensive meal when he should have taken her somewhere simpler for them to have a conversation instead. Others also questioned his motives, especially since he was dating 2 weeks after breaking up with his ex-girlfriend.
