Car hits curb and flips upside down in shocking CTE tunnel accident

A 45-year-old driver was conveyed to Singapore General Hospital after his car hit a curb around a bend in the Central Expressway (CTE) tunnel and overturned yesterday afternoon, around 2.40pm.

A dashboard camera video shows the car had flipped upside-down in the shocking accident:

Eyewitness Melvin Lau who was driving a few cars behind the car that overturned told reporters:

“The car was going too fast when navigating the corner. After it crashed, the cars behind came to a standstill before trying to maneuvre past it.”

The driver, who has sustained abrasion wounds, is believed to be the only commuter in the vehicle.
