On June 18, MBC confirmed that Jin Ki Joo will star in the upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Undercover High School” (working title). Seo Kang Joon had previously been announced as a lead in the drama.
Action-comedy
“Undercover High School” is an action-comedy about a man who goes undercover as a high school student while secretly serving as a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent.
He forms bonds and camaraderie with his classmates as he adjusts to school life. The drama is written by Im Young Bin, known for “Bad Prosecutor.”
Jin Ki Joo will play Oh Soo Ah, a temporary Korean history teacher and homeroom teacher to Jung Hae Sung (Seo Kang Joon), who is covertly attending the school as a student.
Soo Ah teaches at the prestigious Byeongmun High School and is known for her strong principles and genuine care for her students.
Dramatic events
Complications arise when Oh Soo Ah notices a striking resemblance between Jung Hae Sung and her childhood first love, who had deeply hurt her, leading to a series of dramatic events in her life.
The production team praised Jin Ki Joo, stating, “Jin Ki Joo brings an intellectual image and bright energy to the role of Soo Ah, making her perfect for the part.
Her interactions with the undercover student Hae Sung promise unpredictable comedy and romance. We are excited about the potential of this drama.”
In 2025, “Undercover High School” will premiere as a drama on MBC on Fridays and Saturdays.
