A woman working as a waitress and dishwasher took to social media asking for advice after her fiancé’s family belittled her.

In an anonymous post to popular confessions page SGWhispers, the woman wrote that she was a lowly educated school dropout, who only studied until Secondary 2. She explained that she had to stop school because she is an orphan.

The 40-year-old woman wrote that she got engaged to her fiancé in May and planned to get married in October.

On the day of her fiance’s brother’s wedding, she wrote that she took a shower at work and went to his house. “Just yesterday after the wedding, I overheard my fiance’s sister mentioning to the other family members that i am a very smelly person. She said I smelled like a pot of oil, and a lot of sauces. She said she could smell my sweat of oil from very far away. To my horror, the whole family agreed with her that I smelled”, she added.

She noted that her fiance’s family even asked her to resign “as they won’t be able to take the smell if I moved in with them after I marry ( my fiance and I are waiting for our BTO to finish building). They mentioned that I smelled normal when I am not working and they want me to maintain that”.

The woman wrote that she was very hurt and cried as she really wanted her fiance’s family to take to her.

“My fiance consoled me by saying that why not I quit? He can support me by giving me money weekly. He’s a well to do man and highly educated. He mentioned he didn’t like pple insulting me. He mentioned to tolerate insults for a job, it’s not worth it”, the woman wrote. However, she added that if she resigned, she would not have enough money to save for her wedding. She did not want to be a full-time housewife or to have to rely on him for everything.

Asking netizens for advice on what to do, the woman wrote that she had allergies and was not able to wear perfumes because of them.

“It’s not the first time I was being told I am smelly”, she wrote.

Here’s what netizens advised her to do:

Elon Musk secretly had twins with his employee

0
elon-musk-secretly-had-twins-with-his-employee

Elon Musk had twins with his employee, Shivon Zills in 2021. With that, the wealthiest man in the world has now brought his tally up to nine children, at least that we know of.

According to court documents, in April, the Tesla CEO and his company executive filed a petition to change the children’s names so that they would have their father’s last name and their mother’s last name as part of their middle name.

Zills is currently the director of operations and special projects at Neuralink, where Musk is co-CEO. Musk has been in the limelight lately as just before this, his 18-year-old child Vivian Jenna Wilson was granted a name and gender change.

Wilson also wanted to be disassociated with her father, stating that she “no longer wanted to live with or wish to be related to her biological father in any way, shape or form”.

Just last month, Musk got himself in trouble for exposing his penis to a flight attendant for SpaceX, his aerospace company, during a flight. The attendant was paid $250,000 to settle the case in 2018.

Before that, in March, Grimes whose real name is Claire Boucher welcomed a second baby with Musk who they named Exa Dark Siderael.

In an interview with Vanity Fair on her relationship with Musk, the singer said,
“There’s no real word for it… I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we’re very fluid. We live in separate houses. We’re best friends. We see each other all the time… We just have our own thing going on, and I don’t expect other people to understand it.”

It appears Musk’s penchant for procreation doesn’t end there. While Grimes mentioned that they intend to have at least three or four more children. Sources say Musk and Amber Heard, who he dated some years ago may also have frozen embryos together.

Five teenagers brutally murder beloved father-of-two after cruel joke

five-teenagers-found-guilty-for-the-brutal-murder-of-a-beloved-dad

It was a brutal murder that arose from nothing more than a joke made by one of the murderers. And five teenagers have been found guilty of murdering the man. What was supposed to be a memorable day, became a nightmare for the couple, and his partner will have to live with such horrible memories.

The crime is even more heinous because they battered the father to death in a senseless and savage attack sparked by banter about his resemblance to the U.K.s I’m A Celebrity co-host Ant McPartlin, reported Metro UK.

First effeminate, gay Spider-Man after Lightyear

0
here is the first effeminate, homosexual spiderman after lightyear.

Hollywood is making big effort to incorporate the “gay” element into its films, and now the first openly gay, effeminately homosexual Spider-Man is here!

Will that lead to more conflict with the producers and movie ban in some nations?
It will, without doubt, even if it is still too early to predict how this will affect moviegoers.

Spider-Man with feminine traits and lace clothing in a new novel is coming out in September.

But the story, the creators say, is not about the femme-spider-man, nor spider-woman. To know what the story is really about, wait until September.

However, many nations will be outraged by the film, and their censor boards will undoubtedly ban the entire production from showing in their theatres.

But, there is always Netflix and online streaming to catch the banned movies.

Even so, Party Islam Malaysia member of the most conservative state in Malaysia, Kelantan, has defended ban on movie theatres by claiming that because Netflix exists, the state doesn’t need theatres.

Back to the Fifi-Spider, according to Comic Book Resources, the comic book publisher initially revealed its plans to fans in a solicitation dated June 16 that introduced the new character as “WEB-WEAVER.

The character is a not-so-mild-mannered fashion designer at Van Dyne who gains spider powers and shows us a completely different kind of Spider-Slayer.

However, staff members from the company have also disclosed other notices. The first homosexual Spider-Man is being introduced, which is a “big gay honour,” according to writer Steve Foxe.

Foxe adds that he didn’t make his new gay character representative of “ALL gay men,” reported Breitbart.

Lightyear banned

The Disney-Pixar film ended up flopping at its opening weekend, but it gained much attention in countries where it got banned from the silver screen.

Disney decided against releasing Lightyear in Malaysia after refusing to remove sequences “promoting the LGBT lifestyle,” according to Malaysia’s film censors on Friday (17 December). But Malaysia said it has indeed banned the show for the LGBT content.

Up to 14 nations apparently outlawed the Disney-Pixar movie because it featured a kiss between two female characters. In addition to Malaysia, these nations also include the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Indonesia, Kuwait, and Egypt, reported the Independent UK.

Malaysia’s Film Censorship Board announced on Friday that it has cleared the movie subject to adjustments but with parental guidance for viewers under the age of 13.

The board reportedly ordered that scenes and language that it “found to have elements supporting the LGBT lifestyle which contravene important portions of the Guidelines on the Film Censorship” “be deleted and muted.”

Lindsay Lohan has tied the knot with Bader Shammas. She made the announcement in an Instagram post, where she referred to him as her ‘husband’.

The Mean Girls actress made the social media post on July 2 which coincided with her 36th birthday.

“I am the luckiest woman in the world. You found me and knew that I wanted to find happiness and grace, all at the same time. I am stunned that you are my husband. My life and my everything. Every woman should feel like this everyday,” said Lohan in her post, which also featured a selfie of herself and Shammas.

Shammas is a Dubai-based financier who is of Lebanese and Kuwaiti parentage. He resides in Dubai, where Lohan has been living for the last couple of years.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he is an Assistant Vice President at Credit Suisse. He attended the University of South Florida, where he studied mechanical engineering. He later took up finance at the University of Tampa.

Lohan had gotten engaged to him in November last year when she put up a series of photos of the two of them as well as her engagement ring when she made the announcement. “My love. My life. My family. My future” she had then said.

Although the wedding was a relatively low-key secretive event, rumour has it that there is more to come. There is talk of two weddings, one overseas and one in the States, somewhere between Dubai and the US, said one source.

The source also told US Weekly that Lindsay likes her privacy. “It’s going to be intimate. You don’t see her out and about anymore.”

Lohan has in the past shared pics of her partner on social media. On his birthday in June, she wrote on Instagram, “My love! You’re not only a great man, an incredible person, you’re my best friend. Thank you for you loving me back babe! I Love You So Much! Happy Birthday.”

Lohan has taken a break from acting for some years but will make a comeback soon in Falling For Christmas. “This first movie was perfect for me, because I really want to do something happy and fun and family oriented. I like doing that. I miss seeing romantic comedies and less of the horror genre. I want to keep it happy.”

Chee Soon Juan invites cleaners & security guards to his café for lunch

Opening his doors once more to less-recognised groups of people, Chee Soon Juan invited cleaners and security guards to his café.

As part of his café Orange & Teal’s first year anniversary, he “continued to reach out to our friends who keep the Rochester Mall clean and safe by treating them to the café’s best dishes”.

In a Facebook post on Friday (Jul 8), Dr Chee wrote that they had originally invited the cleaners and security guards for lunch but “in their usual self-effacing manner, they said “pai sei” and didn’t want to bother us”.

“And so, we gave them all take aways, assisted in part by those who gave through our pay-it-forward initiative”, Dr Chee wrote.

Last year, in a similar initiative, Chee Soon Juan invited two marginalised groups of people in Singapore to dine at his café; cardboard collectors and poor elderly people.

In a Facebook post on Friday (Aug 13), Dr Chee wrote: “Rather than indulge in self-glorifying parades and making grandiloquent rally speeches, society should commemorate our independence by lifting up the poorest among us”.

He noted that for years he had always spoken against a system that did not pay much attention to the weak and vulnerable.

“Well, now I have an opportunity to do something about it, albeit in a small way. I’m inviting them for lunch at our café”, he wrote. The Secretary-General of the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) Dr Chee called for anyone who knew cardboard collectors or poor elderly people to make arrangements to bring them over to the café.

Baby born to brother & sister parents suffers severe genetic defects and dies

0
incest-baby-dies-just-after-birth-from-severe-genetic-defects

Due to serious genetic defects, a young boy born to an incestuous couple in Dustlik, Uzbekistan, passed away barely hours after his birth, reported Daily Star.

On June 4, 2022, the infant was born with a number of severe congenital impairments and the last moments of the baby were caught on tape and the video went viral.

The video shows the baby struggling in an incubator, and pictures of the baby published widely on the internet showed his bottom covered with dry, scaly skin. The pictures were taken while a nurse was cleaning the baby.

An inherited skin condition known as ichthyosis congenita is characterised by widespread, excessively red, dry, and rough skin covered in both big and small white scales.

According to the Uzbek Health Ministry on June 28, the boy’s mother, a 1994-born woman, was 35 weeks and four days pregnant when she gave birth to the boy.

The baby measured 47 centimetres (18.5 inches) in height.

The Ministry also said that the baby is her second born and that her first born from her husband was normal.

The baby was born out of an incest relationship with her brother.

Doctors say they did everything to save the baby but failed as the baby died just two hours and 10 minutes after birth.

This prompted the Uzbek Minister of Health to issue a warning against incest and marriage between close relatives.

“Most births involving genetic defects result from marriage between close relatives. Should the baby live, they will suffer various life-threatening conditions such as congenital mental deficiency, chromosomal defects, Down syndrome, as well as severe physical impairment,” the warning says.

In order to prevent weddings between close relatives, the Uzbek Ministry of Health urges couples who want to create a family to undergo a health examination.

Key Differences Between International Health & Travel Insurance Plans

Guy Staring Out of Window

The key difference between international health and travel insurance is the target audience and the purpose of the plans.

Coverage Travel Insurance International Health Insurance
Emergency Medical Cover Yes Yes
24/7 Medical Assistance Yes Yes
Medical Evacuation Yes Yes
Trip Cancellation Cost Yes
Baggage Cover Yes
Rehabilitative Care Yes
Chronic Medical Condition Yes
Coverage Duration Maximum of 90 Days Yearly Contract (short-term plan is available from 3 months)
*List is not comprehensive

International health insurance targets travellers who are staying in a foreign country for a long period of time usually with yearly renewals. This will provide policyholders with health insurance coverage since they do not have any local health insurance in the country of interest. From the table above, the coverage exclusive to international health insurance has more long-term care and recovery coverage.

Travel insurance, on the other hand, targets holidaymakers who are going for short holiday trips, with coverage geared towards travel inconveniences. As observed from the table, the medical coverage is mainly for emergency treatment and for travel setbacks like baggage loss and trip cancellation.

Everything You Should Know About International Health Insurance

International health insurance is targeted at those who are looking to stay in a foreign country for a prolonged period of time. For example, students or workers who need to move to a foreign country due to school or work for a long period of time should get international health insurance.

The coverage will be more comprehensive for both emergency and routine healthcare needs. The plan will be more flexible, allowing you to choose your preferred doctor and treatment facility.

Coverage
Emergency Medical Cover
Hospital Stays
Medical Checkups
Outpatient treatment
Medical extensions such as dental, eye checks, pregnancy
Pre-existing or Chronic Condition

As observed in the table above, international health insurance is like any normal comprehensive health insurance that you will get in your home country but bring the benefits overseas where you need to stay for a prolonged period of time.

Other than the policy coverage, Allianz also has an Expat Assistance Programme, which provides a range of 24/7 multilingual support services. This includes confidential professional counselling, legal and financial support services, critical incident support and wellness website access.

When it comes to settling down in a new country, these services would be invaluable.

Allianz also has a digital service that provides you with the ability to manage your cover with the app or portal at your fingertips.

Tips For Choosing The Right International Health Plan For You

Just like any other healthcare insurance, you will want your international health insurance to be customisable yet comprehensive.

This includes multi-country coverage, the option to go for high deductibles and value-added services.

One example of value-added service would be the Allianz Expat Assistance Programme as mentioned above, which provides a range of 24/7 multilingual support services.

If you find that the premium is too expensive, you can select an optional deductible or increase co-payments.

Both increasing deductible and co-payment will lead to lower premium prices but at the expense of a higher payable amount when you make a claim. Allianz allows you to reduce your premiums by selecting a co-payment or a Core plan deductible.

Another important factor to look out for is multi-country coverage as this means you’ll be protected when travelling around, either for work or leisure.

Allianz International Health Insurance provides a simple modular plan that allows you to combine multiple plans together. You can select worldwide or worldwide excluding the USA, giving you the flexibility to select the best geographical region for your stay.

Everything You Should Know About Travel Insurance

Travel insurance, on the other hand, covers a short-term overseas stay. Though travel insurance cover emergency medical expenses, the focus is not on long-term care and recovery.

Coverage

Pre-Bookings
Trip Cancellation/ Delay / Interruption
Emergency Medical Cost

Travel insurance does cover emergency medical costs but focuses more on the short-term inconvenience to holidaymakers, insuring against situations like trip cancellation and loss of personal belongings.

A Well-Rounded Travel Insurance

For travellers who are looking for great coverage in the travel inconvenience benefit, Allianz sets itself apart from the rest. This is especially useful as the potential of travel disruption is still high with COVID 19.

Single Trip Comprehensive Bronze Single Trip Comprehensive Silver Single Trip Comprehensive Platinum

The travel inconveniences include trip cancellation, travel delay and lost baggage. Other than the normal coverage, Allianz also has complimentary COVID-19 coverage with its travel insurance.

Allianz has also recently introduced a cruise trip and sports coverage. The cruise trip and sports coverage are only offered on the platinum plan, which covers missed activities, sporting equipment, sporting equipment rentals and, search and rescue.

Note that Allianz Travel Insurance is only applicable for 90 days per trip. To find out more about Allianz Travel Insurance, click here.

Tips For Choosing The Right Travel Insurance Plan For You

stethoscope

Find travel insurance that has coverage for COVID-19. This is important as some countries require travellers to have travel insurance with COVID-19 before they are allowed in the country.

Even if your destination country doesn’t require travel insurance with COVID-19 coverage, it would still be a good idea to have one anyway.

For example, using Allianz Travel Insurance, if the traveller contracted COVID-19 right before the trip, the traveller can receive compensation for the portion of the trip that is non-refundable.

Suppose the traveller caught the virus overseas and needs to be in hospital for inpatient; they can contact the Allianz Travel 24/7 Assistance hotline which would get in contact with the hospital to arrange for the payments of the medical care.

After all, travel insurance is purchased in case of uncertainty, and you cannot deny that COVID-19 has made travelling today even more uncertain.

Conclusion

Both international health and travel insurance are different products that serve different purposes.

Travellers looking to go overseas for a short trip should purchase travel insurance while those who are staying for longer, such as relocating for work or study, should consider international health insurance.

Ensure that you read the policy wordings carefully, no matter whether you’re going for travel insurance or international health, and add the necessary additional coverages that you need to stay protected.

If you’re shopping for travel insurance or an international health plan, you can check out the Allianz Travel Insurance and International Health Insurance for your next journey abroad.

‘Better stay single than with wrong partner’ — Divorce in Singapore increasing, women reveal ‘unreasonable behaviour’ of partner as main cause

About two-thirds of civil divorces in Singapore last year were from women, citing “unreasonable behaviour” as the top reason for the separation.

The number of marriages and divorces increased in 2021 compared to 2020, although Singaporeans are now putting off marriage, further extending the medium age for first marriages.

The Department of Statistics (DOS) released a report on July 6 which noted a total of 28,329 civil and Muslim marriages registered last year.

This was a 25.1 per cent increase from the 22,651 marriages registered in 2020.

At the same time, 7,890 marital dissolutions were filed in 2021, a 13.4 per cent increase from the previous year.

About 63.8 per cent of the civil divorces in 2021 were initiated by women. They cited “unreasonable behaviour” as the top reason for the divorce, while the men noted “living apart or being separated for three years or more” as the main reason.

Also included in the report was the medium age for first marriages, which increased to 29.1 years for brides and 30.5 years for grooms.

DOS added that diversity within marriages has fallen for the second year in a row, with 16.2 per cent of the registered civil marriages comprising individuals of different ethnicities.

Regarding qualifications of the individuals getting married, those with similar qualifications are on an upward trend.

Marriages between higher-educated brides and lower-educated grooms also increased to 18.2 per cent in 2021 from 17.5 per cent in 2011.

Meanwhile, marriages between higher-educated grooms and lower-educated brides fell to 12.3 per cent from 16.3 per cent over the same period.

Responding to the trends, netizens noted varying opinions in their comments. One Sheila Chetty said that “women no longer need to put up with poorly raised partners” as they have financial independence, which “changes the game.”

“I suspect many of them thought they could change the man, only to realise that it’s impossible to change a person,” said Facebook user Arthur Koo.

Netizen Shafee Mohd Nor shared some advice for the men: get the best lawyers and make everything formal.

At the end of the day, “being single is better than finding the wrong partner,” noted Facebook user Vanessa Kim.

Meanwhile, Facebook user Lisa Forza pointed out that divorce should be discussed before marriage, especially when there are children involved. /TISG
