*NSYNC’s Joey Fatone opens up about hair plugs and fat removal procedures

Fatone

Joey Fatone, at 46, openly acknowledges his pursuit of looking and feeling his best, unashamed of the cosmetic procedures he’s undergone. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, he discusses how many men get work done but often keep it private due to shyness or embarrassment. Fatone, however, believes there’s no need to be ashamed and is open about his own experiences, stating, “Who cares?”

The singer and actor recently had fat removed from his chin and stomach through a procedure called AirSculpt and also opted for hair plugs, sharing that his hair had thinned a couple of years ago, which became a concern as he’s on television. He wanted to eliminate the need for hair spray to fill in thinning areas.

Fatone editing his looks a little bit

Fatone emphasizes that his goal isn’t to dramatically change his appearance or desperately pursue eternal youth. He merely wants to make subtle improvements, stating that he is not trying to change his look nor change who he is. He just wants to edit it a little bit.

He expresses pride in the results of the AirSculpting procedure, particularly in eliminating stubborn fat from his chin and belly. The recovery was quick, with no bruising, and he is pleased with the outcome.

Natural process of aging

Fatone, a father of two daughters, underscores that his motivation is to feel more comfortable in his clothes. He acknowledges the pressures in the entertainment industry regarding weight and appearance but asserts that he won’t drastically alter himself unless a role, like a Marvel movie, requires it. He believes there is room for diversity in every field and acknowledges the natural process of aging.

Fatone also discusses his recent projects, hosting roles, and the release of an *NSYNC song, “Better Place,” the first in 20 years. While there’s no official tour in the works for *NSYNC, he’s getting in shape for himself, as he recognizes that recovery and stamina aren’t what they used to be. He maintains a strong bond with his bandmates and may embark on a small city tour with AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys.

Ultimately, Fatone’s perspective is that life is too short to worry excessively about appearance, and he’s open to collaborations and enjoying the journey.

UK girl blaming health services for allowing her to transition and removing her female organs, conservatives saying it’s her fault

Lovdahl White supremacy uk

The rise in gender transitions by the courtesy of big pharma corporations are looking to be a double edged sword for them. A few years ago, a UK teenager decided it best to change her gender and remove her female organs. However, later on, she appears to regret the decision and wants to sue the health service for not being strict enough with gender transitions.

According to the BBC, a 23-year-old woman challenging an NHS gender clinic for her transition as a teenager believes medical staff should have questioned her decision more rigorously. The Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust faces a full hearing, arguing that children can’t provide informed consent for puberty-delaying treatment.

Furthermore, Keira Bell, one of the claimants, regrets the insufficient investigation or therapy before receiving puberty blockers at 16. Lawyers contend that children can’t assess the long-term impact, including fertility. The clinic asserts a cautious approach, while critics raise concerns about teenagers receiving blockers without adequate evaluation or psychological support. The judicial review is expected in early summer.

UK girl blaming health services for her transition

X users are making several misogynistic comments about women saying that you’d get sued if you allow them to transition or if you don’t allow them to transition. However, this is more related to the topic of transgenders and how some people are manipulated to change their genders when they don’t really need to.

There are individuals who genuinely are transgender and may need the surgeries to comply with their gender dysphoria. Unfortunately, in our society today, our leaders are making it as easy as getting a flu jab. When in reality, a gender transition is a serious decision to think about as one’s life will completely change forever when done successfully.

Furthermore, conservatives are stating that this is a huge “W”, in Gen-Z slang it means a win. They state that detransitioners need to be more outspoken towards the entire situation as children will not be coerced to live an entire lifetime relying on gender transition hormones and surgeries.

Regardless, many feel that the mass market gender transitions should stop as this is really a niche market. Doctors should be obliged to follow through their morality pledge rather than the possibility of making a profit off their patients’ permanent mistakes.

Deputy City Council Admin instructing workers to not use “red & green” Christmas decorations as it is not “inclusive” enough

Deputy City Council Admin instructing workers to not use “red & green” Christmas decorations as it is not “inclusive” enough

It is peculiar that a Deputy City Council Admin is emailing city workers in Wauwatosa, WI instructing them to not place red and green Christmas decorations. The email states that these colours and religious symbols are not “inclusive” enough. However, Christmas has always been an American tradition, regardless of the religion involved.

According to Wisconsin Right Now, Wauwatosa’s deputy city administrator, Melissa Cantarero Weiss, has issued an email instructing city workers to avoid traditional Christmas colors, opting for purple, blue, and snow-themed decorations instead. The directive emphasizes “inclusive decorating practices” to create a welcoming environment. City Administrator James Archambo supports this move.

The email, aimed at fostering an equitable and inclusive community, discourages religious or Christmas-associated decorations like red and green. Instead, Weiss suggests winter symbols, lights, greenery, and northern lights displays in non-religious colors. Critics question the city’s priorities, highlighting pressing issues. Wauwatosa’s mayor confirmed the email’s legitimacy, emphasizing inclusivity and respect.

Deputy City Council Admin discouraging city workers to use red & green Christmas decorations

X users are offended at this entire ordeal. They state that this is an important holiday for Christian Americans. Furthermore, this holiday has been popularised and is significant in American culture.  Currently, there are about 210 million Christian Americans, which amount to 63% of the country.

Others state that this has made them want to send the Deputy City Council Admin Christmas cards everyday. Following that, it appears that a number of X users are wanting to do the same to her. Most users appear offended towards the situation as they feel that Christians are being discriminated against.

In addition to this, users state that she needs to actually start thinking of real problems to solve in her area rather than banning Christmas decorations. Regardless, the ultra liberal ideology seems to be getting out of hand as suggestions like these are constantly made on a frequent basis.

Computer Science degree may no longer guarantee high-paying jobs

SINGAPORE: A degree in Computer Science was the ticket to a high-paying job, the National University of Singapore said in 2012. Besides doctors and lawyers, computer science and computer engineering graduates had among the highest average gross salaries. An article from February this year says that computer science graduates from NUS earn a respectable $7583 per month, and graduates with the same degree from Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University earn just a little less.

However, recent tech layoffs in the hundreds from high-profile companies such as Google and Facebook may mean that CS graduates may no longer have it so easy. Business Insider published an article last week titled “It’s starting to look like majoring in computer science isn’t the road to the promised land of money and job security after all,” which quoted CS students as no longer being as confident in their career prospects as they once were.

The students shared their experiences of sending out job and internship applications by the dozen—or even as many as 100 in one case—and getting back very few responses and offers.

The piece quotes the CEO and co-founder of NodeFlair, a job board for tech professionals in Asia, Mr Ethan Ang, saying there’s a talent surplus alongside plummeting demand. Factor in an abundance of caution on the side of employers as well.

“You have to apply for jobs now. It isn’t like in the past when you received multiple invitations from companies. Everyone is playing the short-term game right now. Everyone is trying to hold cash. Hiring fresh graduates isn’t the best strategy because you need time to train them up,” he said.

The piece also quotes Prof Ben Leong, who teaches CS at NUS, as saying there are many more qualified students in the field than there used to be. “The fact is that it’s a hard job, and getting a degree doesn’t mean you get a job,” he said.

Prof Leong posted the Business Insider piece on his own Facebook account a few days ago and engaged in a lively discussion with commenters. “Trust me that we’re currently not entirely keen to have yet more students study Computing. Our pay isn’t proportional to how many students we teach,” he said. /TISG

5-room flat in Toa Payoh resold for over $1.56M, setting new HDB resale record

SINGAPORE: A five-bedroom top-floor unit in Toa Payoh has been sold for an impressive $1,568,888, breaking the record for the highest HDB resale price. The sale was confirmed by ERA Properties in a press release, highlighting the sustained demand and soaring prices in the HDB resale market.

The unit is at The Peak @ Toa Payoh, a design and build housing project located at Toa Payoh Lorong 1A. The Peak @ Toa Payoh project, completed in 2012, consists of five blocks ranging from 40 to 42 storeys, housing 1,203 three- to five-bedroom units. The specific unit that exchanged hands is located within one of the 40-storey HDB blocks, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding area.

ERA Properties said that the sellers, a self-employed middle-aged couple, decided to part with their spacious unit to make the leap to private housing while the buyers, currently residing in a four-room HDB flat, sought to upgrade to a more expansive five-room flat.

Kingsley, the agent overseeing the sale, found the buyers in less than two weeks, highlighting the swift pace of the HDB resale market.

The sale breaks the record for the highest HDB resale price, held for the past five months by a 50-year-old flat at Moh Guan Terrace. Despite lease decay concerns, several HDB properties islandwide are being resold for more than a million dollars, including older flats like the one at Moh Guan Terrace.

With approximately 88 years remaining on its property lease, the Toa Payoh unit is now a symbol of the red-hot HDB resale market, raising questions about the sustainability of these escalating prices and the broader implications for Singapore’s real estate landscape. The sale underscores the robust demand for housing in Singapore and the persistent surge in resale flat prices despite government cooling measures.

Singaporean asks “what does work mean to you?” because “you pay money to exist” and “not even having a good time”

SINGAPORE: A Singaporean with the username Aggravating_Ear_124 on the Reddit online forum recently sparked a thought-provoking conversation with a straightforward question: “What does work mean to you?”

Aggravating_Ear_124 ‘hates work’ and shared that work is like a subscription. He said, “The fact that I have to work to live on this earth makes me want to puke. It’s like a subscription. You pay money to exist. Unlike my usual subscription, I’m not even having a good time.” Curious about others’ perspectives, he also asked, “Do you hate it and see it as a means to something you like? Like financing your hobbies? Or do you genuinely enjoy working? If so, why?”

The question prompted a diverse array of responses, offering a glimpse into the daily grind of Singaporeans. Amidst these varied perspectives, SDM1974 suggested, “Blame your parents for 1) Bringing you into this world 2) Once bringing you into this world, for not being rich.”

User thiscrazee agreed, stating that ‘unstable adults should not have children.’ He stated, “Wah I agree sia..I feel that poor/uneducated/mentally unstable adult should not have children, for real Yet they have kids hoping they will miraculously turn out to be millionaire n siphon their money or bring them into this world such they can restore maybe a part of their life idk Have children only when you think you can provide them the best of life. Not as investment, a duty or what not.”

Bigspicytomato, on the other hand, added that he prefers the work today to hunting for food like a thousand years ago. He added with a touch of humour, ”I’m not a good runner so I’ll probably starve to death or something.”

AccomplishedLevel260, perhaps echoing the sentiments of the majority of people and Singaporeans in general, remarked, “Most of us work for survival, very few of us work to experience life.”

Mobile_Football_3692 took a practical stance, viewing work as a means to safeguard health and freedom: “Its just work. Not my interest or career. I just do the bare minimum but of course be responsible. I choose it as my health/freedom is more important Its not about reaching FI/FF asap. Theres a few I know who work very hard and got stroke/cancer at 30s/40s. Health/wlb is most important to me now after a health scare last year. You do you! i just go to work, don’t bother with politics, be nice to nice colleagues, ignore nasty ones, stay QUIET and go home.” He emphasised that prioritising one’s well-being is more important than climbing the career ladder.

Annual_Emotion_1470, on the other hand, said work has been enjoyable so far, pointing out what it means to him, he stated, “Firstly, it’s a way to support myself for a comfortable life. Secondly, it is an opportunity for me to hone my skills to be good at what I do. Lastly, it gives me a network of colleagues, friends and mentors, otherwise I might be a social recluse.”

He also highlighted that many don’t enjoy work because it’s routine unlike ‘relaxing at the beach’: “Job satisfaction is different from enjoyment like, say, relaxing at the beach. Most people will say they would enjoy life more if they didn’t have to work. But the reason why relaxing at the beach is enjoyable is because you don’t do it everyday i.e. it’s a break from your routine. If you did it everyday, it will be part of your routine and no longer be as enjoyable.”

Pointing out why many are dissatisfied with work, he added, “I think career dissatisfaction comes not so much from the work itself but from things like pay, working environment and the people you work with. These are real issues and often times, it takes some trial and error to find a balance you are happy with.”

TheGeekWing1, on the other hand, expressed a desire for a life beyond the confines of routine. “Work is ok. I don’t hate it, but I don’t completely buy into it as well. But mainly saving up those money to cycle around the world for 1 year. I dream about a life of leisure. Not having commitments helps in living a relatively YOLO life.”

Some Bukit Timah Food Centre vendors reluctant to move to temporary site due to high rental costs

SINGAPORE: The iconic Bukit Timah Market and Food Center are slated for demolition next year. However, only half of the 180 vendors currently operating in the market are expected to relocate to a temporary site opposite the existing market. The remaining vendors, averse to the high rental costs of the temporary venue, are reluctant to relocate.

Despite the capacity of the new site, only 60 cooked food stalls and 30 wet market stalls have opted to make the temporary transition. The higher rental fees, unsubsidised and based on market prices, appear to be a deterrent to the other vendors already grappling with the rising water, gas and electricity prices.

Currently, the rents for stalls within the market are subject to variation. With subsidies from the National Environment Agency (NEA), cooked food stall vendors pay approximately $1,500, while wet market vendors contribute around $300 in rental fees.

The temporary venue introduces a different pricing structure, with rents pegged to market prices. Cooked food stall owners will face an increase to approximately $2,350, while wet market stall vendors will be burdened with a steep rise to $1,000 – a significant jump from their current fees.

The chairman of the temporary venue told Channel 8 news that while the rent at the temporary site is higher, it still remains “lower than what many other caterers are paying.”

A vendor managing a mutton soup stall expressed reservations about relocating due to the elevated rent. He argued that passing on the increased costs to customers could potentially deter them, impacting his business negatively.

Some vendors are compelled to embrace the temporary arrangement as they feel they have little choice. A 72-year-old fishmonger mentioned the challenges of finding alternative employment at his age, saying he will move to the temporary site to assess the situation before making long-term plans.

The news of the impending demolition has also ignited a vigorous debate among patrons. Regular customers are divided in their sentiments, with some expressing sadness over losing a beloved culinary and community hub.

A 60-year-old customer reminisced about the diverse and delicious food offerings, convenient shopping, and the friendships forged with vendors. She expressed concern that once redeveloped, finding “a place like this” would be challenging.

Conversely, some diners are optimistic about the redevelopment, anticipating an increase in the value of surrounding real estate.

Love scam: Student loses over S$40K he saved up for university fees

SINGAPORE: A 27-year-old man fell victim to another love scam, losing tens of thousands of dollars earmarked for his studies at a private university. Mr Lin met the scammer online, who pretended to be a Malaysian fashion designer working in Singapore.

The woman, who called herself “Anna” on Instagram, followed the man on social media. Mr Lin followed her back, and the two started chatting regularly, talking for as long as one to two hours daily. He came to consider “Anna”, who told him she worked at the luxury fashion house Balenciaga as his girlfriend.

According to a Mothership report, “Anna” told Mr Lin could make extra money on the side by writing reviews for the brand. The report quoted Mr Lin as saying that he had had foot surgery recently, his job prospects were limited, and the opportunity to earn some money was welcome.

But before he could receive the 10 per cent commission “Anna” promised him for the reviews he would write, he first needed to transfer money to a “Balenciaga” account. The account later proved to be fraudulent. On Oct 18, in just one day, Mr Lin made 14 transfers to the account for S$45,590, money he had saved from food deliveries and selling products.

He received S$116 and S$735 plus S$41 for the first two transactions he made, but “Anna” told him he needed to send more money for his commission to come in. At one point, Mr Lin asked her to return the money he sent. However, she claimed she had already moved the money to her mother’s bank account.

Finally recognizing that he had been scammed, he stopped answering her messages. “Anna”, however, began sending him angry messages over WhatsApp. He also lodged a police report against her and told her so, and she cursed him further. However, the police told him that the chance he would get the money back was slim.

Upon checking with Balenciaga in Singapore, he discovered that “Anna” lied to him. The loss of his money, which he had set aside for S$5000 monthly tuition fees, was a serious blow to Mr Lin, and he ended up depressed for two weeks, he told Shin Min Daily News.

Mr Lin plans to apply for financial aid from his school to continue his studies. However, he also has to continue to pay for medical expenses for his foot. Mothership says the student shared his story to warn others to be vigilant and not fall for this type of scam just as he did.

Kayti Edwards claims Matthew Perry may have relapsed before death

Matthew Perry, Edwards

Kayti Edwards, who dated Matthew Perry in the past, has suggested that the “Friends” star may have experienced a relapse leading up to his tragic death. In an interview with the UK Sun, she expressed her doubts about the circumstances surrounding his passing, particularly the drowning aspect. She speculates that he might have taken pills in the week prior to his death.

Edwards mentioned that she briefly dated Perry in 2006 after meeting at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. They remained close even after their relationship ended, with Edwards working as his assistant in 2011.

Kayti Edwards on his death

Matthew Perry was found dead on October 28 in a jacuzzi at his Los Angeles home, apparently from drowning at the age of 54. Initial toxicology reports did not detect the presence of fentanyl or meth, but Edwards believes that there are inconsistencies in the details of his death. She noted that there were no prescription painkillers at the scene, as Perry was careful not to leave drugs lying around. He would consume them all and then replenish his supply when needed.

Edwards also pointed to a clue in Perry’s final Instagram post, shared five days before his death, where he referred to himself as “Mattman.” She claimed that “Mattman” was a persona associated with Perry when he was not sober, suggesting a potential return to illicit drugs.

Perry would be around water when high

Furthermore, Edwards stated that Perry had a tendency to be around water when he consumed alcohol or drugs, recounting an incident when he was found “naked and high” in a neighbor’s swimming pool.

Despite these claims, a representative for Perry did not respond to requests for comment. Edwards had previously revealed that she served as a delivery driver for Perry during the peak of his addiction in 2011, even while she was five months pregnant.

Struggle with addiction

In his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” Perry candidly detailed his long and tumultuous history with drug and alcohol addiction, acknowledging the severity of his struggles.

Matthew Perry was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills on November 8.

Nikki Minaj regrets her plastic surgery

Minaj

Nikki Minaj has expressed regret over her plastic surgery saying that she is remorseful about it after having a child.

In an interview with on the Run-Through with Vogue podcast she spoke about how giving birth helped her appreciate her natural body so much more.

“I guarantee you, if you change anything on your body and do anything surgical and all this, you’re going to – more than likely, not definitely, more than likely – look back one day and say, ‘I was fine just the way I was. And that’s what happened to me. I could not believe even some of the photos that I didn’t love,” said the rapper.

Minaj said that at the time she hated being skinny and having a flat butt, she said she felt her boobs didn’t sit high enough too. But now, having had a child she is reminded of her natural beauty.

“I think pregnancy could’ve played a role because seeing my son did remind me of myself so much. My real self. And it made me think why didn’t I like this? So weird. But seeing old photos, being able to look at old photos again made me realise, ‘These old photos are beautiful’.”

Minaj said that she did not do any surgery on her bottom but but she did have “ass shots”. She also said earlier this year that she had had breast reduction surgery after giving birth to her son.

Minaj, 40, who will appear on the cover of Vogue in December also spoke about her addiction to Percocet which was given to her for her severe menstural cramps. She was prescribed the opioid several years ago and became addicted to it. She said that no one had told her that it was a narcotic and that it was addictive and she began taking the drug even when she wasn’t in pain. But luckily eventually she was able to ground herself and make the right decision.
