Singapore – How many times can you enter, exit, and re-enter an MRT gantry in a given amount of time?
On May 18 (Saturday), a member of the public Alan Tham Weng Cheong uploaded a video on Complaint Singapore’s Facebook page of a man continuously tapping in and out an MRT gantry at Outram Park station.
The man was not lost, he did not miss a station, nor did he leave his belongings at the station – he knew what he was doing, and that was to tap the gantry as many times as possible. In fact, he was able to do it 40 times (20 times into the station and 20 times out) in the two-minute-34-second video.

A coincidental unusual occurrence? Maybe not.
On the same day, another video was uploaded All Singapore Stuff’s Facebook page of an elderly woman doing the same thing at an MRT station.
The auntie was able to tap in and out six times in the 37-second video. Not quite as fast as the previous guy, it would seem.
“Is tapping in and out of MRT gantry a new trend or game that we don’t know about?” read the caption.

Netizens are now left wondering if this latest practice is a new challenge of some sort, a game to redeem points or rebates, or a viral stunt.
For now, let’s see what the “audience and judges” have to say on this competition:
