Odette – A 3 Star Staple

Located in the Supreme Court Wing of Singapore’s National Gallery lies one of three 3-star Michelin Restaurants in Singapore. Named after chef Julien Royer’s grandmother, Odette boasts a delicious menu of signatures like mushroom tea, rosemary smoked eggs which have earned Odette its third 3 Michelin stars.

For the meat lovers who love quality food in a relaxed atmosphere, this restaurant is a must-go. Burnt Ends moved to a new location in 2021 and has managed to hold onto its Michelin star first awarded to them in 2018.

Featuring refined Australian barbeque with juicy slabs of meat as well as boutique wines and even an open-concept kitchen where you can see all the action happen, there is little not to love about the experience.

Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle – Only Hawker Stall with 1 Michelin Star

The dishes that this stall serves are in the name – pork noodles – but nothing about them are simple. First started in 1932, this stall has been cooking up some of the best bak chor mee for nearly a century. The stars of the show are the flavourful cuts of meat, plump dumplings, and springy noodles stirred in a tangy sauce. If you’ve been craving a good quality meal but are reluctant to dish out in the hundreds, be sure to pay the stall a visit.

The 9 New Entries in Singapore’s Michelin Bib Gourmand Selection 2022

Along the restaurants with Michelin stars, there are a grand total of 67 venues that have been chosen to be part of the 2022 Michelin Bib Gourmand Selection for Singapore. Ranging from hawker centres to street food stalls and restaurants, the latest selection features 9 new hidden gems which you may not have heard of before.

In no particular order, here are the nine eateries newly featured in the Michelin Bib Gourmand Selection this year.

Cumi Bali

Prior to their move to 50 Tras Street, Cumi Bali was a beloved restaurant in Tanjong Pagar that brought authentic Indonesian cooking to the table. Grab yourself a table and enjoy the flavours of Indonesia in a cosy room decorated with hanging artefacts and rustic decor.

Their namesake dish, Cumi Bali (S$35), is their signature charcoal-grilled squid. Chewy and flavourful, the squid is cooked wonderfully and pairs perfectly with their homemade in-house BBQ sauce made from a ton of authentic southeast asian spices.

Previously known as Man Man, Unagi Tei has been a popular eel restaurant in Singapore for years.
