Singapore — A video clip of a monkey that had broken into an NTU dorm room was posted online on Thursday (Oct 21).

In the short clip, shared on popular Facebook page @Shioksg, the monkey could be seen on the air-conditioning service ledge at first, before it lept into the room’s window ledge.

The caption posted in the video read: “Just a day in NTU hall…”.

Once the monkey was on the window ledge, it rather aggressively bared its fangs at those in the room. The occupants were seemingly prepared and chased the monkey out of the window with what resembled a red umbrella.

As it went back out onto the air-conditioning service ledge, they immediately closed the window, with the animal just sitting there looking around.

In August, a student living in NTU’s Crescent Hall posted videos of her encounters with the monkeys on TikTok from the account @notdazedd. The first video, which she posted on Aug 15, showed a screenshot of her posting in NTU’s lost and found Telegram group about her missing Shopee parcel.

She then displayed a private message conversation between another student and herself, in which the other student said that he had seen a friend’s Instagram Story showing monkeys going through a parcel at Crescent Hall.

On Sunday (Aug 22), she posted two more videos of her experience with monkeys entering her room and stealing her food. Two monkeys were perched on the ledge outside the student’s window, snacking on food that they stole from her room. /TISG
