Francesco Mikhail, warned others in Complaint Singapore Facebook group about a Coffeeshop hawker stall in Yishun Block 291 after the food stall staff admitted to knowing that their containers are filled with black moulds and bacteria.

Mr Mikhail recalled the events that happened yesterday morning when the stall was putting up their rojak for sale on the counter from their blue containers. These containers as Mr Mikhail stated were stored on the wet dirty floor. The sides of the containers had holes and were covered with dirty black mold and slime, inside and outside.

Mr Mikhail also said that he had diarrhoea from eating at this stall before. He then called out the food stall staff as he saw the state of their food, to which the staff started removing the rojak immediately. Mr Mikhail started questioning the food stall staff regarding their awareness of their food’s safety and poor sanitation, to which they admitted to it.

Mr Mikhail narrated in his post, “I asked the guy who was putting the rojak up if he knew that the rojak containers are filled with black mold and bacteria and he said yes.”

Mr Mikhail stated that he has reported the stall to the National Environment Agency (NEA) last Feb 26 who then told him that they will contact Singapore Food Agency (SFA). Just today, Feb 28, the case moved forward and SFA called Mr Mikhail for more details regarding the case.

Mr Mikhail responded in the comments on his post, “In times like these, we should not put up with substandard, or rather zero standard goods and services.”

He also said that things like this happen when people put money before safety.

“I sincerely hope more people will stand up and voice out when they witness something that is wrong on so many levels and follows up with the necessary steps to ensure that there is not a recurrence, and not wait for the next person to do something or say that we should let them be and God will take care of them in his way. Be kind, generous, and forgiving but at the same time fight for your rights and do not turn a blind eye and walk away when you see something that can potentially harm others.” /TISG
