The National Environment Agency (NEA) is suspending the licence of food shop Prata Wala at Nex for cockroach infestations. The licenses of three other food stalls at Blk 477 Tampines Street 43 will also be suspended for the same reason. The eateries face a two-week suspension.
Prata Wala will be closed from Jun 21 to Jul 4, while the food stalls at Blk 477 Tampines St 43 #01-186 (Food Stall No 1, 2 and 4) will be closed from Jun 18 to Jul 1. Food stall No. 4 was also flagged for failing to register an attendant.
The licensees have accumulated 12 demerit points under NEA’s Demerit Points System over the past 12 months, and have been fined a total of S$800. NEA in its website said: “If a licensee accumulates 12 demerit points or more within 12 months, his licence will either be suspended for 2 weeks or 4 weeks, or be revoked, depending on past suspension records.”
NEA further advised members of the public who come across poor food hygiene practices in food establishes to call the 24-hour NEA Contact Centre at 1800 – CALL NEA (1800 – 2255632).
