Dine-in ban for unvaccinated, new travel lanes prompt more to get jabs

Singapore – More people here are moving to get vaccinated since Saturday’s announcement that the unvaccinated  will no longer be able to dine in at  F&B establishments, including hawker centres.

This announcement coupled with welcome news of the opening of  travel lanes for people who are fully vaccinated has prompted a noticeable jump in  Singaporeans  and other residents registering and turning up  for vaccinations and booster shots, say clinics and vaccination centres.

Fann Wong sold 1,000 tarts in 30 minutes on launch day ― she’s feeling the love and living out her Fann-tasy!

Singapore ― Homegrown actress Fann Wong’s new online pastry shop Fanntasy has started off well. As of Oct 13, all 1,000 of the tarts available in its pilot launch were snapped up within 30 minutes, according to the actress in an Instagram post.

“Thank you for your love,” the 50-year-old shared in an Instagram Story, adding that Fanntasy is “officially sold out” and will share more information about its relaunch on its Facebook and Instagram pages.

Ong Ye Kung confesses ‘feeling anxious’ about COVID spikes on Tuesdays

Singapore — Health Minister Ong Ye Kung wrote in a Facebook post late on Tuesday night (Oct 12) that Tuesdays had been making him feel anxious, because reports of Covid-19 cases tended to spike on that day.

This week, however, bucked this trend, he added. On Oct 12, 2,976 new infections were reported in the news. That meant, after recording between 3,483 and 3,703 new infections from Oct 5 to 9,  new cases were finally down below 3,000.

Woman calls out PM Lee in an open letter, says some projects are “sillier than how you look in pink” and calls for him to resign

Singapore ― In an open letter to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on social media, one Constance Chew has opined that projects such as ‘Gardens at the Airport’, Medishield Life, affordable HDBs and education “Changes” are all “sillier than how you look in pink”.

She wrote that she felt PM Lee had “misplaced priorities”.

NOC workplace harassment saga: Sylvia Chan apologises, says ‘I did not step up to the standards that I should have upheld’

Singapore ― In a continuation of the workplace harassment allegations against Night Owl Cinematics (NOC) co-founder Sylvia Chan, a much sought-after apology has been given.

The 33-year-old Singaporean YouTuber took to Instagram on Wednesday (Oct 13) to acknowledge she has “not lived up to the standards” expected of her, noting she has disappointed people around her.
