Singapore— An innovative young boy who was photographed wearing three cardboard boxes just to get into a LAN shop has given social media something to laugh and joke about.

An Instagram user who goes by the name Terenex recently posted photos of a young boy at Parklane Mall, who asked some shops for cardboard boxes, since he was wearing his school uniform and would not have been allowed to play inside LAN shops.

Mothership picked up the story, much to the delight of many netizens.

At first, he only put himself into two boxes, one for his upper body with holes for his arm, and one for his midsection, to cover his uniform. The boxes had come from a store called Dayplus Food, known for its delicious bread. Terenex found it hilarious that the boy had the words “Natural Yeast Bread” right above his backside.

She wrote, “I was going to dabao lunch with my colleagues at Parklane at around 12:45 pm when we saw a kid in his school uniform trying to fit himself into two boxes. (funnily enough, the box was angled right at his butt and said “Yeast bread”) “

For a while, Terenex and her friends wondered why a young boy would deliberately wear cardboard boxes, but they quickly figured out what was going on. She called him, “super innovative.”

“We were confused for a moment, then we saw him waddling towards a LAN shop and realised he was trying to get in. The box disguise was to hide the fact that he was wearing a school uniform! Super innovative.”

Curious about the outcome of the story, she and her friends went back after getting lunch to see if the boy had been successful. When they saw him again he was wearing a third box to cover his shorts.

She wrote, “We caught him in the midst of waddling back into the shop…only this time there is a third box in sight, covering his pants. We saw him standing in the shop speaking to the shop keeper. We’re not sure if he was successful, but he was certainly an inspiring figure for us all for his relentless perseverance and creativity ????”

Whether or not the boy was able to get into the LAN shop, he scored big points with netizens, many of whom are predicting a bright future ahead of him due to his outstanding innovation and creativity.

He won netizens over, as they rooted for him to actually get into the LAN shop.

Others got clever with their comments (because of course they would!)

Some even gave him a new name and called him a superhero

Others ended up telling about how they managed to get into LAN shops after school

One netizen, however, took the matter very seriously indeed.

But even the store where the boxes came from slid into the comments section, delighted at the creative use of their boxes.

Whoever the young boy is, we hope he finds out one day that he brought joy to many for thinking outside AND inside the box. /TISG
