Singapore court urged to show ‘mercy’ to disabled man on death row

Singapore’s top court was Tuesday urged to show “mercy” as it heard the last-ditch appeal of a Malaysian man facing execution despite criticism from supporters who say he is mentally disabled.

Nagaenthran K. Dharmalingam was arrested in 2009 for trafficking a small amount of heroin into the city-state, which has some of the world’s toughest drugs laws, and handed a then mandatory death sentence the following year.

M’sian motorcyclist dies in Tampines after avoiding old man crossing, a day before he could return home through VTL

A day before he was due to return home through the vaccinated travel lane (VTL), 36-year-old Mohammad Syaifful got involved in a road accident in Tampines, leading to his death.

The Malaysian welding technician was on his motorcycle early Thursday morning (Feb 24) when he reportedly tried avoiding a 72-year-old man crossing the road along Tampines Avenue 1.

Michelle Yeoh almost gets killed doing stunt with Jackie Chan, she said ‘I didn’t want to just play the damsel in distress’

The grand dame of martial arts movies, Michelle Yeoh, spills the tea on her long and storied career as an actor in a recent interview, including the time when she was nearly killed while performing a stunt with fellow superstar Jackie Chan in 1992’s Supercop.

Yeoh, who stars in the upcoming movie Everything Everywhere All at Once along with Hollywood great Jamie Lee Curtis, appeared in a Feb 14 interview in Entertainment Weekly (EW).

Dog alleged attacks on worker & doctor land in court, first of such civil suits

In the first of such cases, a personal mobility device (PMD) rider and doctor seeking damages from separate dog attacks have reached the court level, with a decision pending on who’s to blame.

The PMD rider, a general worker from Bangladesh in Singapore named Hoque Am dadul, was allegedly chased by two dogs from industrial premises.
