Netizens leave 5-star reviews to counter ‘cheapskates’ on Fort Canning restaurant’s no outside food policy, corkage fee S$20, not S$50

Diners at a Fort Canning Park restaurant were allegedly told to pay a S$50 corkage fee for bringing a birthday cake and have since left a scathing Google review of their experience.

Netizens have since showered the business with five-star ratings to combat the one-star reviews by “cheapskates” who do not understand the “no outside food policy” of food and beverage establishments.

S’pore man spends 8 years trying to get S$50K back from ex

A 62-year-old man in Singapore spent eight futile years trying to get back the S$50,000 he left with his ex-girlfriend for safekeeping.

Despite having a signed agreement for the transaction and witnesses to the scene, Xie Shun An has been unable to retrieve the cash after multiple attempts to reach out to 62-year-old Ms Hong.

Soh Rui Yong: ST ‘really did me dirty’ with headline that said he was ‘Partying to new record’

The Straits Times gave champion runner Soh Rui Yong what could be seen to be a backhanded compliment with a headline to a June 19 article in its print edition that read, “Partying to new record”.

The article’s subhead reads, “Soh breaks his own national 10,000m mark despite ‘a lot of late nights’ out after exams.” The runner posted a screenshot of the article, tagging the newspaper and adding “Wow The Straits Times really did me dirty with that headline. #RoleModel”

Titus Low proposes to M’sian influencer 6 hours after meeting her at party

Former OnlyFans creator Titus Low surprised his followers after announcing he was engaged to Malaysian influencer Cheryl Chin, whom he had known for less than a month and was officially dating for about six hours.

In a YouTube video posted on Friday (June 17), Low, 22, and Chin, 21, answered some questions concerning their relationship, explaining how they were “meant to be.” As they were both “a little bit too spontaneous,” Low took the opportunity and proposed. When asked “how was the proposal,” Low explained that “it was peer pressure” that pushed him to pop the question, as he would not do so on a normal day.
