Kendall Jenner and Devin Booker were spotted hanging out again – less than a week after their reported breakup made headlines.

Jenner, 26 and Booker, 25 who is an NBA star spent some quiet time at Soho House in Malibu, California on June 26. In the photographs taken by the media, the duo seemed to be in high spirits as they were captured talking and laughing against the beautiful backdrop. It even appeared that Booker might have been leaning in for a kiss in one photo.

According to an eyewitness, the pair looked happy and “had great energy between them” during the outing. At one point, the insider noted, Kendall giggled after Devin whispered something in her ear.

“They shared things on their phones and laughed,” said the eyewitness. “Kendall was looking up and smiling at Devin.”

Jenner looked fetching in a white cropped tank top underneath an open button-down in the same hue. The supermodel paired this with cream-coloured linen pants. Booker wore an oversized white T-shirt in true signature NBA fashion with a gold chain. They both also wore dark sunglasses.

Interestingly, fans also took note that both of them “liked” each other’s Instagram photos.

The reason for their break-up was supposedly due to different priorities, according to one source.

“While they care for each other, Devin was not going to propose marriage and his priority is his career, Kendall’s career also dominates her life.”

The chink in the armour happened just after Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s Italian wedding. Sources report that once they got back, they started to feel like their goals weren’t aligned.

They had been dating for two years, starting in 2020, but waited until February 2021 to make their romance Instagram-official.

Women call for sex strike against men in retaliation for overturning Roe v Wade (women’s right to abortion)

The United States has always set the tone in terms of abortion rights, gay rights, and breaking down (in the past) barriers between men and women at work or pushing the women’s agenda forward.

However, things are changing in the United States, as evidenced by the recent Roe v. Wade court battle against abortion in some states, which prompted the Supreme Court of the world’s most powerful democratic nation to overturn a pro-abortion ruling.

Man jailed 18 years for horrific physical & sexual abuse of woman

monster-jailed-18-years-for-horrific-sexual,-physical-abuse-of-woman

A woman in the United Kingdom who, after being abused by a predatory male, was pursued and subjected to public violence.

The Sun UK reports that the woman was raped, slapped, beaten and thrown to the ground by the violent man who did everything he could not to let her go. She even said that she feared getting the wrath of the abuser if she did not consent to sex with him. But that did not stop him from raping her multiple times.

In April 2021, the couple stayed in hotels in Chiswick and Hammersmith, West London.

The U.K. man, Michael Maughan hit his victim in her early twenties with a chair and threw cough syrup at her before threatening to take her to Epping Forest to kill her.

During the violent campaign, Maughan slapped her, beat her, threw her to the ground, took her car keys, and barred her from leaving. She told a friend and called the police when she was afraid for her life.

After the police learned of the abuse and rape, Maughan attempted to track her down in his relentless pursuit of his victim. He probably expected her to give in and return to him.

On one occasion, he stormed into a beauty salon she frequented, verbally abusing and threatening the staff, and his violent outburst caused a worker at the outlet to resign permanently. She was terrified that he would come back.

Maughan, 27, is sentenced to 18 years in prison after the court found him guilty of horrific abuse of a trapped woman in an ‘utterly appalling’ violent attack on her.

Kit Harington to star in Game of Thrones spin-off

0
kit-harington-to-star-in-game-of-thrones-spin-off

Kit Harington will star in the Game of Thrones spin-off based on his character Jon Snow which currently has the working title Snow. His Game of Thrones co-star Emilia Clarke spoke to the BBC recently saying,

“He has told me about it. And I know it exists. It’s happening,” Clarke said. “It’s been created by Kit as far as I can understand, so he’s in it from the ground up. So what you will be watching, hopefully, if it happens, is certified by Kit Harington.”

As ecstatic as fans are about the spin-off, many are cringing over the title, Snow. Though Snow may not be a horrible title, it doesn’t seem as exciting or as engaging as the author’s original book titles like A Song of Fire and Ice and A Feast For Crows.

Author George R.R Martin had earlier confirmed that rumours were true in a June 23 blog post, and there was in fact a Jon Snow-based sequel in the works. Interestingly, it was Harington’s idea for a sequel based on Snow’s character, and he even brought his own writers on board for the project. Martin will be involved in the spin-off in the same capacity as the original series. Martin said Harington had met him at his home in Santa Fe to work out a story for the show.

Game of Thrones first aired in 2011 becoming a global phenomenon, it ended in 2019. In the finale, Jon Snow had just killed the good-turned-mad Queen Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and was put on a semi-trial.

Fortunately, things worked out for him and he was last seen riding into the Haunted Forest with his dire wolf Ghost and the Wildlings to start a new life.

Harington was nominated for two Emmys for his role; as a supporting actor and lead actor in a drama series.

Before Snow comes out, Game of Thrones fans will get to watch its prequel titled House of the Dragon, which will premiere on HBO on Aug 21.

Jamus Lim Hosts Durian Party to Appreciate Sengkang Town Council Staff

Durians are not only in season but because of a bumper crop in Malaysia, many varieties of the delicious fruit are selling at excellent prices, with some vendors practically giving them away.

And so it should not come as much of a surprise that Workers’ Party Member of Parliament Jamus Lim shared photos of an “after-work durian party” for the Sengkang GRC Town Council staff that was held this week to say “thank you” for their work.

This is something that the WP team at Sengkang does regularly, Associate Professor Lim wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday (June 29).

“Every now and again, we connect with our property team folks to ensure that they are both heard and supported. Property management can be a rather thankless job, and so it is important that we uplift our #SengkangGRC town council staff, and keep their spirits up. Some ways we do so is through fun, food, and fellowship.”

He added that “calories and ‘heatiness’ notwithstanding,” this “national pastime” allowed the workers, whom he called a “key part” of #TeamSengkang “to take a breather and enjoy some off-the-clock time with their colleagues.”

Assoc Prof Lim added in a postscript that the durian party was a “neat reward” for the team, which had successfully addressed a dengue problem at Anchorvale, which is the ward he represents.

Netizens praised the MP for the appreciation expressed to the Sengkang GRC Town Council workers.

This is not the first time that workers in the ward have been given a special treat to thank them. In May, Assoc Prof Lim also wrote that Anchorvale conservancy workers were treated to a biryani lunch, the first time they were able to sit down to a meal together after COVID-19 safe distancing measures were lifted.

OPINION | Curious Case of Phillip George Sceats, an Australian in Singapore charged with trafficking cocaine, escaped death row with his life

By Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss
27 June 2022

I bet you didn’t know that in 2018, an innocent Australian holiday-maker was arrested at Changi Airport and charged with trafficking an amount of cocaine punishable by death. 64-year-old Sydney businessman, Philip George Sceats languished in Changi Prison for the next 353 days, under the pall of the capital charge.

Then one day, as unexpectedly as he had been arrested, he was taken from his cell to court where he was discharged of the capital charge and told to leave Singapore within 24 hours. Sceats’ arrest in Singapore on 7 March 2018 and his release from prison on 23 February 2019 was never reported by any media at the time.

Court holds debt collection agency that live-streamed visit to Lim Tean’s office liable for defamation, damages

A debt collection firm which called its agents “money-recovering avengers” and which live-streamed a collection visit at the office of lawyer and opposition leader Lim Tean last year has been held liable for defamation by the High Court.

The High Court said that SDCS Holdings defamed a company director when it carried out the visit to Mr Lim’s office. The agency has been ordered to apologise publicly via its Facebook page by Justice S. Mohan.

The wording of the apology also needs to be agreed upon by both parties, The Straits Times reported on Monday (June 27).

If they fail to agree on the wording, they may write into the court to settle it, Justice Mohan added.

The apology needs to stay up for 14 days from the time it’s been agreed upon.

Agents from SCDS arrived at the office of Mr Lim on Anson Road on Sept 21, 2021, to collect a debt of $4,905.12  on behalf of a client.

In a Facebook video posted on the company’s channel, the entire process at Mr Lim’s office was filmed and live-streamed online.

The live stream was captioned “Debt Recovery in Progress. Catch us live while SDCS demands payment from this debtor”.

The live stream received 178,000 views within one week, claim documents say.

Mr Lim’s office was then adjoining management consultancy firm Third March International.

The director of Third March International, Mr Edward Tan, wrote a check to cover the debt on behalf of Mr Lim.

This drew the alleged defamatory remarks made by Kenneth Tien, who represents SDCS.

ST noted that Mr Tan “is a professional arbitration and mediation consultant with more than 20 years of experience in managing maritime and shipping disputes including charterers’ and logistics operators’ liabilities.”

The live stream posted by SDCS showed the name and signboard of Third March International, as well as Mr Tan and Mr Lim.

Shortly afterwards, Mr Tan was called by 20 business associates and claimed to have missed out on a chance to sit on a claims tribunal adjudicating a dispute between a claimant in Indonesia and a company in Singapore.

SDCS removed the video on Oct 7.

Mr Peter Ong Lip Cheng, who represented Third March International in court, applied for summary judgment against SDCS at the hearing, as well as sought damages.

The company’s claim was contested by SDCS.

Justice S. Mohan found a prima facie case for summary judgment in favour of Third March International.

He has also ordered for the suit to proceed for damages to be assessed against the debt collection agency. /TISG

Women call for sex strike against men in retaliation for overturning Roe v Wade (women’s right to abortion)

1

The United States has always set the tone in terms of abortion rights, gay rights, and breaking down (in the past) barriers between men and women at work or pushing the women’s agenda forward.

However, things are changing in the United States, as evidenced by the recent Roe v. Wade court battle against abortion in some states, which prompted the Supreme Court of the world’s most powerful democratic nation to overturn a pro-abortion ruling.

Following the Supreme Court’s landmark decision on Roe v. Wade on Friday, pro-abortion women are calling for a nationwide sex strike in retaliation against men, reported Breitbart.

And the call is getting some support on Twitter, with other seemingly progressive users joining in on the call to abstain from sex with men.

Over the weekend, outraged women took to social media and the streets to protest the Supreme Court decision.

Some activists have declared that women should start practising abstinence, including one Twitter user who appears to believe that women should even refrain from having sex with their husbands.

Vasectomy

On Saturday, a 24-year-old woman protesting in New York City told the New York Post that she would not have sex with men who were unwilling to get a vasectomy.

“If you’re a man who won’t get a vasectomy, even though it’s reversible, and you’re not out in the streets fighting for my rights, you do not deserve to have sex with me,” she stated.

“Perhaps a #sexstrike (also known as #abstinence ) would help the men folk to be all in on this #womensrights issue. #RoeVWade,” wrote Monique Pressley, a legal analyst, and political commentator, according to her bio.

“If you’re celebrating the overturn of RoeVWade, disrespectfully, go fuck yourself. No literally. #SEXSTRIKE Don’t fuck your husbands, don’t fuck your boyfriends, don’t fuck that random from that one app. NO SEX WITH SPERM DONORS UNTIL WE HAVE OUR RIGHTS,” another user wrote.

Woman slams SPF after police officer was caught posing for photo next to dead body

0

A woman took to social media slamming the Singapore Police Force (SPF) after an officer was seen posing next to a dead body that was covered by blue tarp.

In her Facebook post on Tuesday (Jun 28), the woman who went by the name Tracy Lim wrote: “Dear Singapore Police Force, is this how police officers are supposed to treat a deceased? By posing ✌️✌️like the body beside was nothing but a background or an accessory to a photo?”

The woman continued: “That was my auntie lying on the ground, motionless, and decided to take her life. Instead of showing basic respect, this police officer decided it was funny and treated the situation as if it was a happy matter, like he just won a trophy, a game or a prize.

Is a dead body a prize to police officers? Is there no integrity on how a police officer should behave, especially when he is on duty, attending to a case involving casualty?

This is utterly unacceptable and disrespectful to my family and myself and anyone who has been through death in the family.”

Ms Lim confirmed to Coconuts.co that a masked male police officer posed with his hands up in ‘V’ signs next to her deceased auntie while conducting an investigation into her death in Serangoon yesterday evening.

“I took this photo to inform my family members of my aunt’s passing. I didn’t realize that the police officer [posed] in the photo until my [brother] informed me about it,” she said.

In response, the Singapore Police Force released a statement on Wednesday (Jun 29) afternoon.

They said: “The Police are aware of posts circulating online showing a police officer posing next to a blue tent.

The post pertains to a case of unnatural death attended by the Police on 28 June 2022. The deceased was found lying motionless at the foot of a block. The Police had contacted the next-of-kin of the deceased and apologised for the officer’s actions. While the officer was not taking a photo of himself at the scene, he had responded inappropriately to the presence of onlookers in the vicinity. All police officers are expected to maintain professionalism in managing incidents. The Police will be taking internal action against the officer”.
Update: As of 4.24 pm on Jun 29, Ms Lim’s post had been taken down.
