A netizen posted a photo on r/Singapore on Monday (Nov 21) and then asked a question that elicited a lot of answers.

‘Am I in Bedok, Ponggol or Hougang?’ asked Reddit user Low_Ses_Man, posting a photo of a sign that reads “Bedok Reservoir Punggol Vale” beside a smaller sign that says “Hougang Branch Office.”

“Property prices need correction, not moderation” — S’poreans react to Desmond Lee’s comments on signs of moderation in public & private housing markets

In response to Minister for National Development and Minister-in-charge of Social Services Integration Desmond Lee’s recent statement on the apparent moderation of private and public housing markets, Singaporeans are putting their two cents in.

In recent news, Mr Lee cited the property cooling measures that the government rolled out, such as stricter housing loans and 15-month wait times for HDB flats in order to address issues with the stark rise in interest rates. He discussed the cooling measures when talking about the apparent moderation in both public and private housing markets. Given that the latest cooling measures were rolled out just at the end of September, he stressed the importance of keeping a close watch on their effects.

Leon Perera fires back Chee Hong Tat: ‘Gov’t decision to press ahead with GST hike doesn’t embody political courage SG needs’

In an article posted online on Tuesday (Nov 22), Senior Minister of State for Finance Chee Hong Tat wrote that the recent debate over the increase in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Parliament reveals the “fundamental differences” between the ruling People’s Action Party and The Workers’ Party, which drew a response from WP MP Leon Perera.

On Wednesday morning (Nov 23), WP MP Leon Perera weighed in on the matter, sharing a link to Mr Chee’s piece and writing in a Facebook post that “The government’s decision to press ahead with the GST hike at this time does not embody the political courage that Singapore needs.”

Workers’ Party underlines need to pose questions in Parliament regarding failed crypto giant FTX

In the wake of cryptocurrency exchange company FTX filing for bankruptcy earlier this month, Workers’ Party MPs have filed Parliamentary Questions concerning the matter. Several WP Members of Parliament have filed questions for the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister’s Office for upcoming sittings from Nov 28 to 30.

Assoc Prof Jamus Lim wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Nov 23) that MPs have “historically been limited” concerning how they’ve been able to pose parliamentary questions about investments by sovereign wealth funds. “Nevertheless, given the importance of such questions in the public interest, the #workersparty felt that it was necessary to pose some questions on the episode, while respecting the limitations of what we are able to credibly ask via PQs,” he added.

Male fan caught masturbating at BLACKPINK concert

 

BLACKPINK is the key factor in K-pop artists’ increase in popularity

Both BLACKPINK and BLINKs were shocked when a male fan was caught by security for allegedly masturbating at BLACKPINK’s concert recently. Yahoo News reported that the said fan was pleasuring himself at BLACKPINK’s concert in Newark, New Jersey on either Nov 14 or Nov 15. A netizen went on Twitter to share the incident which led to the male fan’s apprehension.

“This guy was caught [masturbating]/touching inappropriately right next to our section and was quickly caught and arrested,” the user tweeted. “We were telling the security about it/described his outfits etc, and immediately three bodyguards starts looking up for him and saw him leaving, but thank god, they managed to catch him.”
