A Filipina domestic helper seems to have won the employer lottery with Thomas Tuchel, who is widely regarded as one of the best football managers in the world, winning the Champions League in his first year as the head coach of Premier League club Chelsea.

But as it turns out, he’s also a pretty amazing human being who went out of his way to help, not only once, but twice, the woman who cleaned his home, in extraordinarily generous ways.

In 2018, the German former football player, 48, was hired by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), where he did very well, winning two league titles.

During his time with PSG, he and his wife, Sissi, along with their two daughters lived on a property in Hauts-de-Seine, hiring a Filipina woman to do their house cleaning.

They soon saw that she was always available when they needed her to work. A report in The Mirror pointed out that the Tuchel family “quickly took note of her incredible work ethic.”

The helper also began logging overtime hours with the Tuchels.

When they asked her why she was willing to work so much, she said that she needed the money for major heart surgery for her son.

The Mirror noted that Tuchel “wasted no time in funding the surgery in full” and added that the surgery was successful.

As if this kind act were not enough, he learned about the helper’s lifelong dream, which was to be able to buy a house back home, so she could retire and live with her family, whom she missed very much.

Tuchel was dismissed by FSG in 2020 and moved on to Chelsea the following year. But before he and the helper parted ways, he bought her a house—described in some reports as a villa—so she could go home to the Philippines for good.

This act was very likely supported by Tuchel’s wife Sissi, who, although does not often share the limelight with her husband, is a big source of support in his life, The Sun reported.

And while news of the ex-footballer’s generosity toward the helper first broke out in September of last year, it was featured on Feb 18 on the Soccer Updates Daily Facebook page, where many commenters praised Tuchel’s generous spirit.
