Bus driver arrested after elderly cyclist dies in fatal collision

A 67-year-old cyclist lost his life this morning when a bus crashed into him along Jalan Bukit Merah. Photos from the incident are circulating on WhatsApp and social media.

Footage captured by eyewitnesses show the cyclist lying underneath the bus, behind the bus’ front wheel, while a trail of blood can be seen on the ground near him.

Pictures also show the man’s red bicycle laying near the bus’ wheel.

The police have since revealed that a “67-year-old man was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene” and that the bus driver was arrested for causing death by negligent act.
