Traffic jams at Woodlands checkpoint

The Immigration and Checkpoint Authority has stepped up security screening at the Woodlands Checkpoint after two security breaches earlier this year.

ICA officers were seen placing rubber traffic cones in place of drop arm barriers at the final security inspection points on Friday. Officers were  inspecting one car at a time. Previously, officers inspected two to three cars at a time.

According to one of the officers on duty, the additional security measures are the cause of delays at Woodlands Checkpoint.

Our  point is, running down a traffic cone will not even cause a dent on any car. The ICA needs to invest in proper drop arm barriers in order to prevent another breach.

Perhaps, ICA needs another security breach to drive home the point!
