6 long weekend and quite possibly 2 super long weekend and 1 super-super long weekend in 2016

Are you feeling jaded about going back to work after this holiday season? TISG has some good news for you. 2016 brings you not 1…not 2…not 3…but 6 long weekends in 2016. And if you plan your annual leave properly, you may very well enjoy some super long weekends as well.
Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has confirmed the public holidays for this year, and…
2 public holidays fall on a Sunday, which automatically makes the Monday a public holiday:
Labour Day (1 May)
Christmas Day (25 Dec)
2 public holidays fall on a Monday:
1st Day of Lunar New Year (8 Feb)
Hari Raya Haji (12 Sep)
and 2 public holidays on a Friday:
New Year’s Day (1 Jan) – yeah we know it just ended yesterday, and
Good Friday (25 Mar)
Too bad that Vesak Day falls on a Saturday. But depending on your company’s human resource policy, and depending on if your company considers Saturday a non-working, you may just get an off-in-lieu.
But wait, that’s not all the good news. If you have some annual leaves, you should set aside 4 of those to enjoy some super long weekends.
Take 1 day annual leave on 8 Aug (Monday) and since 9 Aug, Tuesday, is National Day, you get super long weekend.
MOM after confirmation with the Hindu Almanac has confirmed that Deepavali this year will fall on Nov 10, another Tuesday. So, if you take another day of your annual leave on 9 Nov, you get one more super long weekend.
But wait! Do you want a super-super long weekend? Then take 2 days of your annual leaves on 4 July (Monday), and 5 July (Tuesday). That way, because 6 July (Wednesday) is Hari Raya Puasa, you get a super-super long weekend – Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue and Wed…
WOOT!!!
