Singapore — A taxi driver travelling along Holland Road tried to make a U-turn from the left-most lane, resulting in a road accident which sent two people to the hospital.
Facebook page Beh Chia Lor – Singapore Road uploaded a video of the incident, which reportedly happened on Saturday (Oct 23).
The 29-second video began with the blue taxi in the left-most lane, its hazard lights blinking.
The taxi driver proceeded to swerve to the right-most lane while a passing black Audi SUV came into camera view.
It appears that the taxi made the 90-degree turn to make it to the U-turn slip road.
The cam car slowed down to avoid a collision. However, the Audi ended up t-boning the cab, causing it to spin on the wet road.
As the cam car moved forward, the dented taxi was seen mounted on the road divider.
It was reported that the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) had confirmed the incident.
SCDF was alerted to a road traffic accident along Holland Road towards City. SCDF conveyed two people to National University Hospital, reported Must Share News.
In response to the video, netizens wondered why the driver pushed to make the u-turn at that particular slip road when there was another further down the road.
“It seems very difficult for many drivers to go to next u-turn or exit. Just a few more meters away rather than do this stunt and cost problems for yourself and others,” commented Facebook user Laugo Laugo.
“I can’t understand what goes thru the minds of such drivers. If you miss a u-turn, just go to the next one. Why endanger everyone’s life,” added Facebook user Jaime Chan. /TISG
