Netizen celebrates pigeon that laid an egg in his garden on the first day of lunar new year

A netizen Ryan Pigeon posted on a Facebook group, Singapore Wildlife Sightings, about a pigeon next to his papaya sapling that laid an egg in the year of the tiger.

Mr Pigeon shared a photo of a nest made by a pigeon in his garden. There was one laid egg on it. On his post, he said, “First Day of Lunar New Year. New Year, New Beginnings, New egg.”

Teacher calls out P5 boy for ‘spamming 69’ in the chat box of an online class

A teacher with an online class of Primary 5 students used social media on Monday (Feb 21) to emphasise the “reality of students these days”.

In a Facebook post, Matthew Zachary Liu wrote:

“10 year olds are swearing.
12 year olds are surfing porn.
14 year olds are sexually active.
16 year olds are broken.
18 year olds are committing crimes.”

Colourful Pokémon-like bird existed in S’pore 150 years ago, migrated to M’sia due to habitat loss

A bird with features impossible to miss in the forest was spotted recently in Malaysia, which turns out it used to be a former resident in Singapore about 150 years ago.

Photographer Kenneth Cheong shared his sighting of the bird on the Singapore Birders Facebook page on Feb 8, noting that the bird is threatened by habitat loss. He came across the black-and-yellow broadbill in a mountain village in Pahang, Fraser’s Hill, on Jan 26.
