A man shared in a TikTok video how he received a letter from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) informing him that they had some of his possessions.

After revealing he had lost his wallet with more cash than usual, the man hoped the police notice was for the same reason.

The video starts with TikTok user @chrishendoo, Chris Henderson, informing his audience of the SPF letter.

“Ten days ago, I lost my wallet; now I just received a letter from the Singapore Police that they have items of mine. So we’re gonna go check to see if Singapore lives up to his name and has my wallet, which contains S$500 of cash in it,” he said in a TikTok video now with over 65,000 views.

“So, let’s see if Singapore has those honest people that they always go on about,” he added.

Chris mentioned how he rarely goes about with that much cash because a “maximum of S$100” was his norm. “On this occasion, I lost it. I’ve got a baby coming in in September; I need the money,” he explained.

The video transitions to Chris in his vehicle after claiming his lost items.

He shows the audience his S$460 cash, still in his wallet, which was handed to the police.

“Unbelievable. My wallet was lost, so please, whoever handed it in, thank you so much, and I hope that you get good karma for you and your family,” he said, wishing he had the contact details of the kind stranger so he could give him or her some compensation.

“But this is Singapore all over. The honesty of the people all being on the same wavelength and they’re not being that criminal sort of mindset of ‘I’ll take the money and throw the wallet,” said Chris.

Following Chris’ experience, netizens expressed their Singaporean pride in the comments. “Yes, WE ARE SINGAPOREAN! Whether you are here for work or holiday, we treat everyone with respect and honesty,” said TikTok user Positive Dreamer.

Others shared how they too lost their wallets and got them back “no cash lost.” /TISG
