Letter to the Editor: PM Lee should step down, Tharman is “the obvious replacement”

Dear Editor
Why do we even need to fret or guess? PM Lee just turned 70 and we have had enough of him. It is high time he stepped down because he has clearly run out of steam and creativity.
Tharman S is the obvious replacement and the best choice. It doesn’t matter if he’s Indian, after all, he is Singaporean. He ticks every box with a sharp mind, steady hand, eloquent, highly-respected internationally, etc. In fact, I would think he’s even more qualified than the current PM save the fact his father isn’t illustrious like LKY.
So we don’t really have a problem. Tharman has at least a good 10 years more which is an adequate runway for Singapore to take off. Under the current 4G leadership, we will probably sink, considering their handling of COVID.

Cheers,

Lawrence Seow
