In June we reported that the police were investigating a hit-and-run case. Facebook user Zufar Khan Ismail Khan first identified the car on June 16. His video showed the car purposely hitting a motorcyclist and running away after the biker fell.

Zufar in appealing for witnesses to the horrendous act identified the vehicle number as SKA1713J. He appealed for the authorities to do something about the hit-and-run case.

The car had also been previously flagged for dangerous driving in April 2015.

The New Paper yesterday identified the driver as a 63-year-old man named Ho Loong Chan. The newspaper said that the driver faced 10 charges, including rash driving and causing hurt to a motorcyclist and his pillion rider.

Several forum users have speculated that the person being charged is a staff of Land Transport Authority (LTA) (http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/eat-drink-man-woman-16/63-year-old-man-faces-10-charges-hit-run-accident-aye-5505368-3.html).

A check with the government directory shows that there is a Ho Loong Chan employed at LTA’s Local Projects & Maintenance Project Team 1 (Rail System), as a Project Manager, Local Projects (https://www.gov.sg/sgdi/ministries/mot/statutory-boards/lta/departments/rse/departments/fs/departments/lpm/departments/lpm/departments/pt1rs#HO-Loong-Chan-PBS_Project-Manager-Local-Projects).

We have written to LTA to ask if the person being charged for the hit-and-run case is the same man who is under employ in the LTA.
