Beverly Hills 90210 alum and ex husband to Megan Fox, Brian Austin Green said he was sick for years and his symptoms mimicked that of a stroke.
Speaking to Cheryl Burke on the Sex, Lies and Spray Tans podcast, Green, 50 said that little did he know at the time that the debilitating symptoms could be overcome by simply changing his diet.
“I’d spend four and a half years recovering from stroke-like symptoms without ever having had a stroke but I couldn’t speak.”
Doctors had told him he had vertigo and ulcerative colitis and that the combination of both had made him bedridden for three months. He said that no specialist could figure out what was wrong.

“Then these neurological things started happening after the vertigo, and that was – it was four and half years of my life. I got to the point where I shuffled like I was a 90-year-old man. I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t read. I couldn’t write,” said the actor who has also been seen in Desperate Housewives and Anger Management.
During the podcast he was also asked if his symptoms had anything to do with an accident he had with Megan Fox in 2014 when they were involved in a car collision.
Austin Green said none of his symptoms were diagnosed by Western medicine so he ended up having to find a doctor that was more into kinesiology and Eastern medicine. The holistic doctor then told him that most of his symptoms were due to inflammation from gluten and dairy products.
Ironically he said that he had been active his whole life and his doctor at Cedars-Sinai was one of the top neurologists in the country and yet two MRIs and 200 blood tests later none of them could discover what eastern medicine did.
Green added that the brain fog was so bad at one point that he actually reintroduced his best friend of 25 years to his sister whom she had also known for 25 years. He said that even reading Dr Seuss books were difficult.
