Hong Kong — According to actress Adrian Wong, her father, veteran Hong Kong actor Felix Wong, whose wife died last year, is not dating anyone.
The news about Wong finding new love started after actress Emily Kwan, 55, posted on social media photos of her having afternoon tea with the actor on Aug 31 and belatedly celebrating his birthday on Sept 14. He turned 60 on Sept 4.
Wong’s wife, former actress Leung Kit Wah, passed away in May 2020 at the age of 59 after a seven-year battle with acute myeloid leukaemia. Wong and Kwan have starred in the TVB adaptations of late writer Louis Cha’s martial arts novel, The Legend Of The Condor Heroes.
In the 1983 version, Wong played the protagonist Guo Jing, and in the 1994 adaptation, Kwan played the role of Mu Nianci, the mother of Yang Guo.
Adrian Wong laughed off the rumour of her father and Kwan dating on Wednesday (Oct 27). She said that there were others at the events, and she was glad her father has so many friends who care for him.
“I know he still misses my mum. We paid our respects to her just the day before,” she said, adding she was more concerned about his health than his love life.
The 31-year-old actress, who is single, also joked that she needed to date more than her father.
Adrian is currently busy opening a new bakery and preparing for a Christmas bazaar, and she said making new friends during the pandemic was difficult due to the restrictions on dining-in.
Born May 1, 1990, Adrian Wong Tsz-ching is a Hong Kong actress. She is best known as the daughter of Felix Wong, one of the Five Tiger Generals of TVB.
Wong was born to actors Felix Wong and Leung Kit-wah in Hong Kong. Wong attended St. Rose of Lima’s College and Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Leung died of organ failure at Gleneagles Hong Kong Hospital on May 26, 2020.
