President Donald Trump absolved himself from colluding with the Russians during the 2016 Presidential Election and has shifted the blame to Hillary Clinton and the Democrats. He said in a tweet on Monday that “collusion with Russia was very real”, but that it involved the Democrats. He demanded a new federal investigation of Hillary Clinton and House Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Adam Schiff on their ties with Kremlin.

“Hillary Clinton and her team 100 percent colluded with the Russians, and so did Adam Schiff, who is on tape trying to collude with what he thought was Russians to obtain compromising material on DJT,” the president said in a couple of Twitter posts:

Trump earlier acknowledged that the purpose of the controversial 2016 meeting at Trump Tower was to seek “information” on then-Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Trump Jr. was one of three top Trump campaign officials, along with Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner, who met with the Russian lawyer and several other Kremlin-linked individuals at Trump Tower in June 2016.

The FBI as well as the congressional Russia investigations, is examining the meeting and Trump Jr.’s possible role in Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. The President on Aug 5 derided the investigations as “witch hunt” and called the media which failed to accurately report it as “fake news”.
