Five year old killed in fall outside parents’ Woodlands Close office

A five-year-old boy was killed in a fall after having been locked accidentally in his parents’ eighth floor Woodlands Close office on Saturday, January 5. Authorities believe that the child tried to leave the office through a window.

At 9:00 pm on Saturday night, a fall from height case was reported to the police at 11 Woodlands Close. The body of the child was found on the grounds outside the building.

Paramedics pronounced the child dead at the scene of his fall, and police have announced that an investigation into the child’s death had commenced.

The parents of the boy, who own an education center at Woodlands Close, say that he accompanied them to the office on Saturday morning. While there were no lessons there, the parents worked, and the boy fell asleep. Forgetting that they had taken the boy with them to the office, the parents headed for home without their child, according to Chinese-language newspaper Shin Min Daily News, who reported the child’s death on Sunday, January 6.

When they got home, they realized that they had left their child behind at the office, the Chinese daily reported.

Ms. Hu, the mother of the child, told Shin Min Daily News, “Our home is only a five-minute drive from the office. I couldn’t believe that when we rushed back to the office, we would see my son’s body lying on the ground floor.”

She also said that she saw that the office window was open when they returned to 11 Woodlands Close. She believes that the boy panicked when he tried to exit the office through the window.

The deceased child is the youngest of the couple’s four children.

Ms. Hu also expressed her feelings of guilt and regret when she spoke to another Chinese newspaper, Lianhe Wanbao, on January 6, Sunday, saying her son may have lived if they had not locked the windows at their office.
