63-year-old man arrested for breaking into Simei flat

A 63-year-old man who allegedly broke into a flat at 11.30am on Friday (26 Aug) at Block 101 Simei Street 1 was arrested, the Police said today. He is not only tried rob those in the flat, but also assaulted one of its occupants.

Police arrested him in less than 5-hours after the 29-year-old victim made the report. They said that ground enquiries, aided by information from police cameras helped them identify the suspect early.

The police further said that the suspect will be charged in court on 29 Aug with house trespass and attempted robbery with hurt.
