SINGAPORE: Are you longing for a holiday getaway but don’t have enough leave days left to go too far? We’ve got some good news for you. ONE15 Marina Nirup Island in Indonesia opened last month, and it’s less than eight nautical miles from Sentosa Cove, Singapore.
The holiday destination is located off Batam, Indonesia and is described as the “epitome of eco-luxury living”, offering the “perfect blend of luxury and adventure.”
For now, it can only be accessed via private boat, so yacht owners rejoice. The island’s marina holds up to 44 yachts with a maximum length of 150 feet.
At present, there’s a restaurant, bar, sea sports centre, and laundry and shower rooms.
It also has Wi-Fi, so you can quickly post your most Instagrammable moments on the island.
Guests can also avail of immigration and customs services by appointment.
But a luxury hotel is in the offing for the next phase of the island’s development, with 94 rooms and 52 villas. The hotel, a Westin Hotels & Resorts property, is set to open toward the end of next year when the island fully opens.
In the meantime, guests can take walks on the beach, tour the island, swim in the crystal waters, go kayaking, or just sit back and relax.
Additionally, “We are committed to marine and environmental conservation as we believe in preserving the island’s natural beauty for future generations to enjoy. As such, we have implemented various eco-friendly practices at our marina, such as, recycling and energy conservation, to minimize our impact on the environment,” the venue’s website says.
