'May this love never find me': Women react to Singapore wife's post about doing 100% of housework while her husband does 0%
SINGAPORE: After seeing a content creator who claimed to do nothing for her husband, a woman in Singapore took to TikTok to show how she is the complete opposite, saying she does 100% of their household chores.
Her husband, meanwhile, “barely lifts a finger at home.”
The woman (@teresa3152), who has a full-time job, said she was perfectly fine with this setup. Her husband pays for all of their household bills, and she gets to keep all of her income.
Additionally, he had her add his credit card to her Apple Wallet and refuses any repayment when he buys expensive items for her.
“My husband treats me with respect,” she wrote on her carousel, adding, “When I’m tired, the house gets a little messy, and it’s okay. He makes sure I feel appreciated.”
The point of her post is that couples should do what works for them. And if doing nothing for her husband works for the other content creator, then that’s that.
“I do 100/0, but if 80/20 floats your boat, that’s fine too,” she added.
While she is more than content with this set-up in her marriage, commenters on her post, especially women, were less than crazy about it.
“May this love never find me,” wrote a TikTok user, who also called the woman a “paid servant” in another comment.
“All the housework plus a job sounds like hell. It's like paying a maid,” added another.
“Thanks for reminding me I need to raise my sons well and not a future man child. I used to earn more than my husband b4 giving birth, but I never used that as a weapon to do less or nothing at home, and glad he treats me the same with respect now, though he is high, high up the career ladder,” chimed in a third.

“Huh, not even 90:10..? idk about 100:0 man,” a TikToker wrote.
Another, however, wrote, “I think women generally love to clean and cook for their husbands when they are taken care of/provided for. It's just our soft feminine side showing.”
In a follow-up TikTok post, @teresa3152 explained that her husband earns up to five times as much as she does in some months, has a very busy job, and is a full-time university student.
“I’m happy being a maid,” she added, reiterating that she’s “totally content” with her role in their marriage. /TISG
