At least half a dozen Honda Civics were parked for what appeared to be a photo shoot in the Sime Road underpass leading to Kheam Hock Road on Saturday (Mar 26).
“Drivers using this road beware and drive with care!,” reads the caption accompanying a post on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page. It shared photos of the vehicles, some appearing lined up as if in formation and taking up an entire lane .
Several of the cars pictured look like they have been modified. The photos also showed onlookers, including parents holding a young child.
However, the owners of the vehicles may find themselves in hot water over the photo shoot, as it is now being investigated by the police, says a Straits Times report, as the drivers or owners had no permit to hold the photoshoot on a public road.
Several netizens responded by ridiculing the car owners for their vanity display of vehicle pride — given that the cars’ license plates can clearly be seen and therefore can be easily traced.
“Generation Zero Brain cells at its best,” was the caustic comment of one netizen.
Several commenters warned the drivers sarcastically that a visit to the authorities would be in the offing.
Others called the display “stupid,” given the number of “vigilantes” who are only too happy to upload photos of such acts.
Yet others were glad that no other cars were speeding toward the parked Honda Civics at the time.
Some netizens, however, were not nearly as amused.
